Still, I always felt the Bears had a better chance against Favre than Rodgers. If I had to pick one of them for the Bears to play against every time it'd be Favre, no question.

I dont think that has anything to do with how good or bad Love looks. They have to have more than 1 guy they know is coming to camp. So of course they are going to be looking for another QB.

I mean, haha Packers, but any team would want more than 2 QBs (or 1 if no Aaron) in camp just to have bodies.

They normally carry 4 Quarterbacks during camp.

This isn't even news if they think Love is the goods. He's QB 1 and they find bums off the scrap heap. The transition from Favre->Rodgers was different because everyone knew Rodgers could play. It's a known fact that Love is a bum and a horrific reach in the 1st round.

They can have Dalton or Foles.

Rodgers looked awful his 1st 2 years (at least in preseason). I thought he was going to be a total bust.

Yep and then the first time he got a chance to play, he broke his foot.

Favre was more exciting to watch and I always appreciated how hard he threw....that being said, Rodgers is much more careful with the football....he doesn't throw interceptions. Brett had plenty of bad interceptions.

I'd take Rodgers over Favre.

I’ll take the guy that didn’t throw 6 interceptions in a playoff game.

Interesting convo. I’d agree that Rodgers is more skillful as a QB than Favre.. but I hate Favre much more than I ever hated Rodgers lol

That said, my take on this situation is similar to the Bears prior to the draft -patience. They don’t need to do anything right now, maybe reach out to Rodgers and leave an open line of communication, but that’s about it. Go into OTA’s with Love as the guy and see how he looks taking most of the snaps.. evaluate. But I’m not rushing into anything right now if I’m GB. There’s nothing to be done right now anyway. Let this thing settle and breath for a while.

And fwiw -keep in mind that Love might actually be a good player. I was on YT yesterday watching different highlight vids and came across his and spent some time watching it due to what’s going on now -the kid can throw.

If the Packers trade Rodgers, their entire front office should be fired and then executed.

Rodgers may want to get traded, but there is no scenario where they get good enough value in return. If Rodgers is that hell bent on NOT playing in Green Bay, they should make him sit out a year. He's under contract....play or retire. If they trade him, it will come back to haunt them.

I think sitting out a year would haunt them even worse.

Trade him at the most opportune time if he won't play for you and get max value.

If he shows a willingness to sit, then there is a good chance that his value will go down.

If management plays hardball and he decides he really wants to screw them he could just sit out half the season and then return after they go 1-8. He gets credit for a whole season on his contract and nobody is happy.

The Packers seem pretty dumb for letting this dispute with Rodgers escalate. He's seemingly not the kind of guy to pick a fight with.

He does seem like he really can hold a grudge. The only way I see him coming back is if he’s more concerned with his legacy and someone convinces him that staying gives him a better chance at a SB or at least helps his public image for future gigs.

Outside of salary considerations, the Packers seem to treat him like he's just another player. That's definitively not the way Brady was treated in New England--nor is it the way superstars on many other teams are treated.

Maybe. I do think he seems like a guy who takes offense easily and rarely feels he shares any blame. Still, I hope he comes back but I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t.
