FF talked a load of shit about how Kenny Clark was as good as Aaron Donald or Preston Smith was on the level of Khalil Mack. Now hes astounded that Bears fans are wanting to rub his face in it after his whole defense, even guys like Savage and Alexander, looked like ordinary-if-not-shitty players.

I never said they were as good as those guys. And I’m not astounded by anything, just as you shouldn’t have been astounded I talked shit after us beating you after a summer of Bears fans acting like the North was theirs by default.

The division is probably still the Bears' by default as long as we take care of business against the Vikings. Not necessarily a given on the road but if we cannot beat Cousins we never deserved it anyways.

Then the Bears paste the the Raiders in London while the Packers let up 200 yards rushing to Elliott and we take first place in the division without ever looking back. Easy as.

No matter what happens Green Bay will still be in first place with a 2-0 record in the division. Bears have a must win game this weekend meanwhile. Should be a microcosm of the season, battling for 2nd place in the division. .

If the Packers are 3-2 and the Bears are 4-1 the Bears will be in first place. Please tell me you dont struggle this much with basic maths.

Read the posts again and this time try to sound coherent. It’s impossible for the Packers to be 3-2 or the Bears to be 4-1 after this week. No matter what GB will be 2-0 against the division and in first place after this week.

Apology accepted.

I'm looking ahead to the week after next when the Packers will be knocked out of first place. Technically they already have been, as the Lions are currently in first until Mahomes demolishes them on Sunday.

Its not the best division in football.

The Bears are the only good team.

The other 3 teams are incomplete garbage, and that will play out over the course of the season.

The Bears have an excellent defense. The offense at best is average, perhaps below average. This prevents them from being a great team. They can be got.

The Bears have all the personnel necessary to have an average offense. Better yet its an average offense that almost perfectly complements their overall strategy to win games, which is basically to lean on the defense (and now special teams) to make big plays for the offense to capitalize on. They need to find the formula and find a way to execute it. Its not as simple as "run more" but it also doesn't necessarily need to hinge on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky turning into a QB slinging it all over the field.

LOL @ everyone who said the Vikings were the Bears toughest competition in the North.

Lions may need to be taken seriously but it should be between GB and Chicago now.

It’s such a fun division right now with a ton of good storylines.

Its a shitty division. The Packers beat the Bears week one last year, how did that turn out? Lions are improved but you can tense the implosion is right around the corner.

I am not sold on this yet. Last year didn't they beat the Patriots pretty early in the season?

They will fold as the season moves along.

I’m not sold either. They’ll have to be like 7-1-1 for me to take them serious. They’re the fucking Lions and they’re coached by Matt Patricia. Enough said.

The Chiefs are designed to win games exactly that way. The fumbles were obviously an anomaly (for both teams) but if you want to beat Mahomes you have to really beat him before he can rip you apart in the fourth quarter. I know the score makes it close and even if you were watching you could be fooled into getting caught up in the moment, but it was a near-certainty that when Mahomes took over on that final drive the Lions lost. It was probably certain well before that.

They still have Stafford and Patricia, dont fall for the hype.

Detroit’s front 7 is very good and they were even missing Slay today. If Zimmer were their coach I would be concerned.

I’m gaining respect for Stafford as the years go on. Of course he’s not very good but he’s a warrior out there.

The division isn't really the worry. The rest of the division will take care of itself.

The issue is how the hell the Bears are going to score against the Cowboys or Saints. We may hold them to 15 but I dont think this offense in its current incarnation can score 15 against defenses that aren't afraid to get physical.

Bears were the only division team to win this week.

Makes up for week 1 where it was the opposite.

Still gonna be a b.itch to win this thing. But a nice week 4.

Yeah, repeating something doesn’t make it true. However, the Packers are still in 1st place and are 2-0 in the division, which is true.

Uh huh. Hang on by that thread. Cubs were in first too for a hot minute.

I think the Vikings are out. That's the one thing that's changed. They'll be 8-8 at best.

Vikings are 0-2 in the division. Both road losses, granted. But it's tough to make that up for a tie breaker. Especially the way everybody else is playing. And I think this thing is gonna come down to a tie breaker.

This is a fun division.

Yep. Best RB in the NFL for 3 weeks and the Bears destroyed him. Love it.

I'm really interested in the decision making of the Vikings and I feel like there's a good behind the scenes waiting to be written (or maybe it already has). I've long thought Zimmer was at least an above average coach, but I wonder whether the Cousins contract was primarily his call or Spielman's and also whether Zimmer's devoted to going down with the Cousins ship.

The whole time Romo was prattling on about their 1970s offense today I kept thinking to myself that description also applied to the team from 2-3 years ago, only they didn't have a fat contract going to the game manager quarterback running that primitive offense.

The 7 minute per drive idea isn't a bad idea because it keeps the D fresh on the sideline, and keeps you from getting into gunslinger type games which would not favor the Bear. But to do it well, you need to be in 3rd and 2 and not 3rd and 6.

He had no desire to go back out on the field the last 2-3 drives
