Florio is on now and others have similarly commented or posted about not being happy about this deal for Mahomes. I don't understand why? It is his business and he wants to do this for whatever reason. Brady and at the end I assume Manning played for less to be on a better team. Between him and his dad there will be no fundraisers for the Mahomes family.

I don't think it's really noteworthy either way. They wanted to give him the label of "Highest paid athlete in sports history" even though it's meaningless. Literally whenever he wants Mahomes can demand a restructure/extension and KC will do whatever he wants if he doesn't decline. Makes sense for both sides imo.

Correct, and even his fifth year option is a ludicrous bargain. This isn't a bad deal for either side at all, its all about each side committing to one another. Restructures are a yearly occurrence in the NFL, anyone worried that Mahomes wont get paid enough is being deliberately obtuse.

I don't know about overrated, but his knees are already shot and he is 24. Still much better than Mitch, but I do not foresee a long career.

I know everybody on this board thinks he sucks but the Lamar contract will be very interesting to see if he has a similar season to last year.
