Rodgers said they practiced that 2nd to last play on Friday.

That was an unbelievable play. Fooled em completely. But it took a great QB to make it happen.

Josh Gordon to the Chiefs, he will play 3 snaps before getting suspended again.

I just learned something from Romo. I didn’t realize that a holding penalty in the endzone results in a safety.

On paper, Preskott > Hurts and Dallas should win easily.

So far it's playin' out that way.

 Yeah that honestly surprised me too. Zippy is what I would consider a knowledgeable sports guy and thought that was pretty common knowledge.

So what do you Stafford doubters have to say now?

That we are 3 weeks into the regular season and we've seen Goff have similar success in the same system.

We already made it clear... this move was to win the SB. Anything short of that and no victory laps can be had.

I drafted him Fantasy, he should get 45 TDs if he stays healthy.

Not only does Matthew Stafford look significantly better than Goff ever did just on the eye test, statistically he is going to blow Goff's production in LA out of the water (presuming he stays healthy at least two-thirds of the season). Goff topped out at thirty-two tugs with the Rams, for Stafford it would not be at all unrealistic to suggest he might throw fifty.

The guy is a stud. He always was too. The Lions were just a such a trainwreck they could never build around him. Turns out Sean McVay knows more about football than FF, a surprise to fucking nobody (except FF himself).

Stafford = Kirk Cousins with a better arm, except Cousins has actually won a playoff game.

Stafford in the playoffs 0-3 with 4 TD to 3 INT

What Stafford's doing now any mid-level NFL QB would be doing with the Rams weapons in McVay's
offense. It does make ya wonder what insane numbers a truly elite QB like Brady or Rodgers would post in Stafford's current situation with Kupp/McVay et al. Brady would've gone to the Rams instead of the Bucs but the Rams said no? Wonder if the deal Rodgers worked out with Green Bay allows him to go to any team of his (and the other team's) choosing after this season or if he's still destined for the Broncos.

McVay definitely knows more about football than us. Doesn't change what I said. If they make the playoffs and lose it was a lateral move. If they make the SB and lose it was a lateral move. There is one thing, and one thing only, that can justify the cost of the trade.

You should watch the Rams games. Stafford is dropping dimes and threading needles everywhere. Nobody this season has looked even remotely close to as good as him all year. This is nice conjecture and a cute narrative if you've made up your mind that Stafford sucks and are now scrambling to come with reasons why he still might be "only average", but its contradicted by what is happening on the field.

I'm not going to the extreme as FF, but I do agree with you so far....the naked eye test says Stafford is really good.
Still...let's see the playoffs before we crown his ass

They probably have three or four more seasons after this one where Stafford can keep performing at this level. This one and the next one he is at an extremely reasonable cap figure too. Even if they don't win it all this year they are set for the near future. All for what? A couple draft picks that at worst will be in the late-twenties?

Detroit got bamboozled. They had this thing and it was fucking golden and they gave it away for nothing.

LOL. Dude isn't Rodgers or Brady. Elite QBs will at least make the fucking playoffs every couple years. Especially with Calvin fucking Johnson with them.

Sure, they don't need to win a SB this year. Could be next year or the year after. But, unequivocally, they do need to win the Super Bowl for this to be anything other than a bad/lateral trade for them.

Maybe after 12 yrs of watching Stafford squander Megatron's career and going 1 and done in the playoffs the Lions realized that if they ever wanted playoff success Stafford wasn't the guy? Especially
for the Lions situation.

Stafford's good, much better than Goff, but ya gotta credit McVay and the Rams
receivers as much or maybe more than Stafford for the Rams offensive prowess. It wasn't that long ago that McVay and Woods/Cooks/Kupp/Gurley elevated Goff to MVP talk: https://www.espn.com/blog/los-angeles-r ... discussion

Mcvay was a huge upgrade over Fischer, Stafford was a huge upgrade over Goff..there is no way this could be a lateral move.. I heard many people saying Stafford was slightly better than Goff..he is a huge upgrade over Goff.

Look, just watch the Rams. Assuming you watched them play the Bears on SNF at least, right? Because it has basically been like that ever since. This is not Matthew Stafford throw short slants or screens and then guys uncorking for sixty yards after the catch. He's nailing every throw, making every correct decision and just operating at that highest quarterback level. It looks like prime Peyton Manning, Brady, Rodgers...he's doing it absolutely as near to perfection as we've ever seen.

You don't like that because you have pre-existed perceptions of Stafford that are getting shattered? Fine, but you are out here telling us what is clearly happening isn't happening because your ego doesn't like admitting its wrong. You and FF, just take the L here now or keep hoping injury ends his season before he starts threatening records.

They made the playoffs with Goff. They made the SB with Goff. They had one of the best offensive teams in the league with Goff.

This is quite literally a lateral move if they have a great regular season and dont ever win a SB with Stafford. There is no other way to look at it.

Take the L after 3 regular season games? When Goff had similar stretches of regular season success, as Hussra has already pointed out?

This isn't about ego. It's about being smart enough to trust a 10 year sample size over a 3 week one.
