I think the facts back me up on this. Their have had to be thousands of NFL/NBA players over the past 30 years that were in gangs growing up. How many have done gang related murders since making it to pro sports? I can't think of any. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Im not sure if you count Plaxico shooting himself, but he was in a gang

There are plenty of athletes that after their career have had legal issues consistent with gang activity.

60 thousand people. It's pretty much a middle to upper middle class white neighborhood with 87 percent being Caucasian. Only 4 percent live below poverty. That's where this thug Alex is from? They probably had two of them. One took the east side of ESPN. The other had the west side. They were both trained to shoot Berman on site.

I didn't see any stats but I don't think the crime and murder rate is too high there.

My point is he really wasn't in a gang. He didn't need them to survive. I've never heard a reformed gang member say "I couldn't get out of middle class suburbia so I turned to a gang". Nor have I ever heard a reformed gang member say "you try surviving on a full boat scholarship to Florida. You try surviving the quad, frat parties, lecture halls and cafeterias."

He was just a wanna be tough guy that associated with thugs cuz he admired the thug life for some reason. He was a druggie that became friends with gang members to make himself feel more tough.

The killing was personal and about his girlfriend. As some of you have informed me, he killed for his girlfriend's sister. He was fueled up on booze and cocaine when he pulled the trigger. He killed him in his house as he had a cleaning crew there on Monday. He destroyed his security cameras cuz it either captured the victim entering his house and/or the killing itself. The fact that he had a rental car in the town that he resides suggests premeditation. Cuz why rent a car unless you don't want your car to be captured by residential or road side cameras or by the residents in your neighborhood. So he lured the victim to his home with the intention of killing him. He was gonna bury the body but as he was carrying it to some field or near by lake, he thought somebody saw him so he took off on foot leaving the body and the rental car

I rest my case. He's guilty of 1st degree murder. Sentencing tomorrow.

There have been questions about him since high school in regards to gangs, and many people believed he decided not to go to Connecticut to get away from people from home. He supposedly dropped in the draft in part because of concerns about gangs. He's now involved in what seems like gang activity.

What I'm saying is "Bristol Gangs" aren't real gangs. He was a druggie that sold drugs with a bunch of high school buddies. Like a lot of suburban kids. Do I think his little group called themselves a gang and perhaps had a cute little tough name? Sure. So technically he was in a gang. But he was basically just hanging out with punks and stoners at his suburban high school. They sold drugs and maybe robbed a few convenient stores. I don't think the streets of Bristol were littered with whore houses and hookers where bullets are flying on a daily basis. I don't think there was a huge drug business on the street corners of Bristol where territory needed to be protected by murder. Call me stupid if you will, but we're not talking about the South side of Chicago. After reading Wiki, Bristol sounds like Buffalo Grove.

Bristol has bad areas with "real gangs". I live in an area that is rated much safer than Bristol and we have real gangs here too.

Don't confuse that gangs are an epidemic in some parts of Chicago with Bristol being the equivalent of Mayberry. Doug Gottlieb was describing how like many towns of similar size, Bristol has some really nice areas and some areas you know not to go to at night.
