He'd have had to be an idiot to have gone out for the last 2-3 games. Screw bad faith ownership.

More attention should be directed toward their atrocious WR room. Who the fuck heads into an offseason with the worst or tied for the worst WR group in the league and decides to target Nelson Agoulor. That's almost like you're making light of your situation by signing a guy who's well known for being quite bad at the role. Even if Lamar were to resign it's not like he has much to look forward to. Just the same group of 50 B to B+ level RBs, a single stud TE, and horse shit at WR.

But they make huge investments on a defense who consistently blew HUGE leads.

Poor Lamar. So underappreciated and put upon that he can turn down generational wealth without batting an eye. Hopefully his next team will give him the money and respect he so richly deserves.

Collusion. Black quarterbacks are in right now. Lamar even refused the jab. What else does he need to do to prove he's more valuable than Daniel Jones?

This one is easy, I think.

Badrogue:
49-21 for his career
1-3 in the playoffs
2019 MVP
No scandals

Badrogue's colleague:
31-29
1-2 in the playoffs
Missed 27 games due to admitted misconduct

Badrouge, would you be fine if your colleague somehow ended up making substantially way more in salary than you despite having inferior performance? I think Lamar is doing what all/most of us would do in any job where we found out some fraud was making more than us - he's having an "oh hell no" moment.

Obviously I'm not in Lamar's head but I imagine it's the principle. If I want to be valued appropriately then no way in hell am I gonna accept less than what some 31-29 creep is making. Not necessarily my position, but if that's what he's thinking, then we see that in virtually every place of employment.

One hit could end it all and he'll just collect the giant insurance policy he has. He'll be fine. He wont live up to whatever team is going to overpay for him.

Again, because some other owner GM and team was stupid with their money, another team should be ?

Nah. I don’t know where Jackson is coming from but there are plenty of guys out there who find contentment without the need to compare himself (or herself!) to others.

Look at the way Tom Brady conducted himself vs. the way Karen Rodgers gutted his franchise.

No one loves Tom Brady more than me, but Brady had a wife worth close to a billion dollars. I'll take less if I'm married to Oprah. Rodgers was greedy and wanted 4 HUGE deals. MANY are content after the first big payday.

I think Lamar is hellbent on creating a new precedent, and his peers are kinda waiting to see what will happen. By all accounts he's somewhat of a recluse and has no insane spending habits.

isn't the salary-capped NFL a zero-sum game? If Lamar resets the QB market at the level of Watson's deal or more, that hurts way more players (any non-top-X-QB player in the NFL) than it helps (a handful of top NFL quarterbacks).

Lots of luck with that. Murray and Watson's contracts and underperformance are gonna make that tough sledding.

Murray and Russ suck, some dipshit gave them a quarter billion..so every starting qb in the nfl could use that to justify an outrageous contract.

Not really. He's just looking for guaranteed dollars. His per year compensation may ultimately be a little less.

Throw is Russell Wilson, and you see his problem.

Edit: I will say when you need to include "Do your job!" in Murray's contract, it's probably not a deal you should make. The same is true for Wilson's demand for a corner office and his own personal coach. By all accounts that isn't Lamar.

With what they're paying running backs in the NFL nowadays. You're probably better off staying in college for 5 years, incl the extra COVID year, and soaking up that sweet NIL $$$'s while playing against teenagers than going pro and getting paid less to be pummeled into early retirement by NFL defenses.

Kids grew up wanting to be the star quarterback or running back.
