Can he beat out Northwestern's very own Mike Kafka?

That's what kind of intriguing about this. Tebow wasn't allowed to start for the Jets, but the Patriots picked him up. I wonder what they might do with him.

I guess so, since Kafka was cut to make room.

I would say there is a good shot at Belichek convincing Tebow to play another position.

Patriots offense sputtered in the 4th quarter on occasion last season. Tebow = closer QB.

Unlike the Jets, the Patriots will figure out exactly how to use Tebow. Make him a TE replacing Gronk who had surgery, & design some plays for him out of the backfield or under center. I'm rooting for him & hope he succeeds. Professional sports needs more guys like him.

I'm genuinely happy he signed just so this thread can keep going.

Get in now Tebowners. How many games will he start at QB for the rest of his career? Rex Ryan is no longer holding him back! I'd have to imagine that some of you think he'll start at least 32 more games at QB. Is there anyone willing to say he'll start 16 games at QB for the rest of his career? Even 8?

 A lot more than 2. He has to become even an average starting QB. That was the argument all along.

Surprisingly, no one is willing to predict he starts more than 1 game at QB ever again. The Teboners have given up on him.

I'm not sure that Tebow will ever start at QB again. He should be TE/FB, which is exactly what I believe NE will do with him, & they will have some success with him in that role.

Herm Edwards thinks that's crazy.

Which is ironic coming from Herm.

I think taking Brady off the field for some Tebow packages is a great move....

Exactly. It's hard to fathom people still are fascinated with nothing more than an NFL scrub.

2 PASSING touchdowns on set offensive plays. Not rushing, and not a trick or special teams play either. Tebow has to take the snap and throw to a WR, TE, FB, or RB.

The fact still remains that Tebow has one more playoff win in Denver than Peyton Manning.

Manning got them just as far though, and didn't get embarrassed in the divisional playoffs.

No one expected for Tebow to beat the Patriots on the road and Manning probably would have lost that game too. Peyton Manning was given a $100 million contract to take them to the Super Bowl and not only did he fail to deliver but he threw a pick in OT to give the game to the Ravens.

.

So if he becomes a solid FB or TE or Red zone specialist, who wins?

Tebow wasn't supposed to take them to the Super Bowl?

They both got just as far. It's not any better to win a wild card game than it is to not play in a wild card game.

Me. I don't know of anyone who doubted that Tim Tebow had a position in the league. Many doubted he was a QB and they were shouted down at the exact peak of Tebowmania only to have one of the worst plummets in the history of NFL QB play. How many QB's have "won" a playoff game, been immediately shipped out of town, and then cut by a team the following year, and then have to take a terrible deal just to stay in the league?

he's not going to be anything but a QB, and that's what the patriots want from him. tom brady is nearing the end of his career. the plan would be to groom tebow into having a semblance of a NFL QB so they can either start him or trade him for a pick in a draft with an even more attractive QB.

You honestly think that the Patriots view Tim Tebow as the heir apparent to Tom Brady? I'm going to disagree on that one.

It was a cheap move for a guy with some NFL skills. You let him fail in training camp at QB, spend the season with him doing some gadget plays, put him in the games against the Jets to annoy them, and then tell him he either moves to another position or he is cut. The Patriots aren't putting the future of the franchise in Tim Tebow's hands.

from what i've heard, both belicik and mcdaniels like him. and the best organization to be a part of these days is the patriots. i think their idea is to have him as a short term gimmick long term possible QB or trade bait.

It can't be long before timmy starts trying to save Gronk and his sinful party rocking ways. They are basically the same big dumb jock with polar opposite personalities. Should be interesting.
