FF had to answer in a douchey way to avoid confronting the fact that Packer management appears willing to forfeit the team's very good chances at winning a Super Bowl this season with Aaron Rodgers so that it might have a shot at winning one in two or three years with Jordan Love.

Doesn't it seem odd that he is gloating about the possibility that the Packers may be better than the Bears even without Rodgers? I would think this circumstance would provide small, if any, consolation for a fan of what is ostensibly one of the top two or three teams in the NFL. Yet Favre Fan and Hawg revel in this pyrrhic victory because they recognize that their team's shot at the real prize, achieving Super Bowl Glory, becomes increasingly unlikely with each passing day--and their own GM is responsible for this retreat into mediocrity.

Their dreams have been crushed and they know it, but they just can't come to terms with this painful and embarrassing reality. So they prattle on inchoately in order to convince themselves that all is right behind the Cheddar Curtain. And in so doing they amount to nothing more than the proverbial violin players on the Titanic.

You people for years have gone on and on about how Rodgers hasn't played and won more Super Bowls. I think it is quite cute how the narrative has changed to if Rodgers comes back a return to the Super Bowl is assumed.

Ive never waivered on him, he is great. He has covered up many shortcomings with his play. Return to SB? Possibly..13 wins for sure and divisional winner.

No, they'd still lose in the playoffs to the first team devoted to running.

Always a good thing when the Packers are in "At least we are probably better than the Bears" mode of the Aaron Rodgers era.

Poor Hawg is so far gone that he has apparently deluded himself into believing that the Pack is better off with Love than it is with Rodgers. Is there a veterinarian in the house?

This isn't funny so much as it is true. Maybe they get to 7-9, but that's top of the mark for the Packers without Rodgers.

It makes sense. We're hearing shit talk from Bears fans in this thread, not Tampa and KC fans.

But it always amuses me that being a Bears fan is so miserable the only happiness they can have is when a rival team does bad, not their own team doing good.

Bears fans have the first real chance to be optimistic with Fields at QB and Rodgers appearing to be on his way out in GB. That is good for the Bears on both sides of the coin.

Its understandable for you to feel the way you do since you're not used to the Bears being set up for success more than the Packers are. That hasn't happened since 04-05.

Literally this exact same thing was said after 2018. How did the next two seasons play out?

Nope. Rodgers was still the Packers QB then. There is no way to write off a team that has Rodgers or Brady as their QB.

Now if/when Rodgers leave the Packers, well then...

 Revisionist history. Go look back at the posts after the 2018 season. The Packers were coming off a 2nd losing season and the Bears team was so dominant that kicker was the only weakness!

And Rodgers is still the Packers QB right now.

You're the one claiming these things were said, so the burden of proof is on you.

Since you're chirping about Hawg's bet, and now you say Rodgers is the Packers QB right now, lets make a wager on how many games Rodgers starts for GB in the 2021 season. The over/under is 13.5. I'll take the under.

I don't care enough to go digging through the posts. Unlike you I remember what the feeling was for both teams after 2018. If you want to pretend it wasn't the case for whatever reason that makes you feel better than go ahead.

I already have a bet with Nas on Rodgers being the QB. I'm not gonna double down on it.

Yes, the Bears felt good about their team going into the 2019 season. With good reason.

Nobody smart was writing off the Packers.

I'd take the over, but I'm not making any more bets until I make good on my loss to Nas

still...13.5 is a tough get for any NFL starting QB

The belief of the downfall of the Packers in 2018 was that Aaron Rodgers was starting to decline and he was no longer capable of carrying an otherwise average team. This proved to be incorrect, though the Packers weren't ever really serious contenders to win the Super Bowl. Lots of regular season success though.

The same logic works if we are discussing the end of the Rodgers era though.

With this being so needlessly nasty and public, you really have to wonder if the idiots in charge have done a decade's worth of damage to the team. It's rough enough that few skill position players want to live there, but with the receivers not showing up before, I think good players aren't going to want to stay there.

Loyalty begins at home and mgmt doesn't seem to understand that.

Why did 2 of their best players, Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones just sign contracts to stay? Bakhtiari is one of Rodgers best friends too.

They both re-signed before this blew up iirc. Change happens
