I doubt the NFL owners, of all people, will approve this.

Ryan Pace would hire all blacks to move up only to draft white players rated as 5th rounders.

This would just turn into hiring Head Coaches and GMs in name only. Then give someone else the real power.

I am only casually amused by her takes, and don’t contribute to that thread, but I seriously can’t wait to read julie’s take on this ridiculous proposal.

What makes this kind of ironic is that blacks are 14% of the American population. For representation of black coaches to achieve equal representation with their proportion of the population there need to be 4.48 black coaches. Obviously there cant be half a coach, so lets just say four or five is about right.

There are four black coaches in the NFL.

Fyi- this kind of shit is why people cant take identity politics and the whole "blacks have it so bad" thing seriously.

That proposal should be repugnant to minority candidates

Absolutely!

You would think that a league made up of 70% black players would occasionally hire more than a couple as a head coach or executive in 2020.

Though many of the best general managers are former players, its still a vastly different job. The best GM of the last twenty years is black, too. I dont think teams are just avoiding black candidates.

I like the Rooney Rule because it gives candidates an opportunity they might not have had to wow team executives in an interview and at the very least, get interview experience under their belt. It's a true example of teaching a person to fish.

This is just quota begging.

There are ways to develop executives through a program so that they are ready to be hired upon "graduation". It's done throughout the corporate world.

The actual proposal is mind-blowing. Its sixteen spots from a team's third round pick. Moving from 3.65 to 2.49 is worth a lot, at least a fourth if not a late-third. Plus they get draft position later on (I think in the fourth round).

It applies to women, too. Of course white women miss no opportunity to put themselves up on the cross.

NFL and the police department have bonded a lot lately, I see Cody Latimer is our next visitor to the local precincts.

It looks like the Rams might be in some trouble. SoFi started as a 2.8 billion project and its already over 5. Players haven't been paid bonuses and they just hit the league up for a loan of 500 million. Loans of this type are paid within 15 years they want 30. When the stadium opens they're going to be in rebuild mode. I wonder if part of the rent from the Chargers comes from a percentage of ticket sales or concessions. If so they're really in trouble...

things in LA are going according to plan: NFL plans to move one of the franchises to London, the other to Mexico City. Los Angeles returns to being the bogeyman the other NFL owners use as leverage to force their current municipalities to shovel taxpayer dollars at them to stay. Coronavirus a temporary speed bump on the road to multiple NFL franchises outside the states.

The league felt obligated to Spanos for being such a good soldier over the years and they underestimated what Davis was dealing with in Oakland. Their lack of homework on the situation in Oakland is what created this mess. They should of worked out a deal in San Diego and brought the Raiders back to LA as tenants of the Rams. Maybe Kroenke didn't want the Raiders to return but it backfired on him when they got Las Vegas. A large percentage of the Raiders season ticket sales are from the Rams/Chargers territory. I think its close to 50% of their season ticket sales are from LA and the East Bay.

That's good.. I don't think the mexicans have any interest in the NFL.. Don't think the players would live there also.
