GB has won in the past because they got the QB decision right......

No

All those teams made an effort to build an offensive line before and during the offseason they got their QB.

Every one of those teams won because they got the QB position right. You take the QB away from those teams and it doesnt matter how good their OL is they are not winning. That is because the QB is the most important position and the one you have to get right.

I agree that the QB is the most important position. but as we've seen....there's very few and the risk is greater than the reward.
Philadelphia Eagles
Baltimore Ravens
NY Giants - Eli does not count as getting the QB position right
2016 Broncos - Peyton Manning was not "Peyton Manning"

So yes, while the QB is the most important position on the field, there are the ways to build a winning roster and doing it through the o-line IMO is a less risky venture.

Philly maybe the best example.

Baltimore has been built with a great defense when they have been good and then more recently with a MVP QB.

I get the dislike for Eli, but when they won he was a major reason why, moreso than the OL.

And the same for Peyton. While not the Colts Peyton, he and their defense was the reason why the won, not their OL.

Eli was a serviceable QB with some good moments. He is nowhere near the elite list mentioned: Peyton, Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes. Eli isn't even DeShaun Watson or Russell Wilson.

That's entirely my point. You can win with an Eli Manning by building a stronger supporting cast and that is my less risky to do than trying to be smarter than every other GM over QB. I absolutely hate this pick....why? The Bears like him. That translates to Fields is not an elite QB.

But this is different than what Bills has been saying. He has said you build the OL and then the QB follows. None of those followed that path with the exception of maybe Philly.

What's with the midget WR's? All these guys are 5'9-5'11..what happened to the 6'3 receiver?

Trends. Shorter shiftier guys can run around longer and make quicker cuts after the play breaks down and the QB is scrambling around in the backfield waiting for someone to get open. Quick dump-offs to a play maker for YAC in some of these spread options is also leading to some of this as well.

Seeing a lot of motion before the snap with these shifty guys (like Smith in the National Championship and Tyreke Hill with the Chiefs) to help create space is another reason for the trend too.

Rule changes. WR's are protected almost as much as quarterbacks now.

I guess, I still don't get drafting them top 10. There will be WR's that go rounds 2 and 3 today that will be just as good.

I don't understand why everyone in the media is making a big deal about how the 49rs kept their pick a secret. No one could have jumped them. It did not matter.

Probably because 1/2 the staff would have revolted if they knew about blowing the #3 pick on Trey Lance.

yeah, taking Trey Lance after trading up like that? they could've gotten Lance at 12 or at worst swapping out with Carolina at 8 for less than they gave Miami to jump to 3...should've pivoted to Penei Sewell or Kyle Pitts on draft day

They might have the best. Dalton's probably not cracking the top 5 even without Rodgers included

If the Bears go OT in the 2nd round I will tolerate, or even attempt to have optimism about the future of this organization.

I’d be happy with Radunz.

I didn't like his tape...he's got some strength and/or balance issues. He was getting dominated at times by small school linebackers. He was also pretty shaky at the Senior Bowl. If you're looking for a LT I think you're out of luck but Jenkins will be a monster at right tackle. Eichenberg solid. Cosmi great traits decent tape. Mayfield looks like a guard to me. This is the strangest tackle class I've ever seen...almost all of them have short arms. The number of left tackles that have had success with sub 34" arms is very small.

Wait what?

I thought Radunz dominated at the senior bowl, and that’s the only reason people are talking about him being drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round?

You might be thinking of Quinn Meinerz a guy I like a lot but he's a center/guard.

I forgot about Walker Little from Stanford. He's a guy some people like. He was a 5-star that had an injury then opted out. It will be interesting to see where he goes.

Either tackle spot needs to be upgraded my friend.

We are looking at Germain Fucking Ifedi starting at right tackle for game 1 of 2021.

Tackle is a major need.

I think Radunz underwhelmed early in the week at the Senior Bowl but was killing it by the end.

Will be interesting to see where he goes. He's gotten a lot of attention. We'll see if the teams think as highly of him as some of the media.

Yup. Gotta love the Bear fans on here forcing themselves to be miserable about this draft with zero reason to do so

I look at him like the guy the Vikings took a couple of years ago from Pitt. He may not be ready to start today but you see true left tackle traits and easy room to grow with better coaching q d nutrition
