The Bears hired someone to "diversify" the hiring process and presented her at the press conference. Funny that the lack of hispanic or Asian coaches/players didn't come up as an organizational issue.

Sean Desai and Juan Castillo would make that a moot point, no?

Having one coach or player makes a point moot? Tell that to Dr. Kendi. Why are there so few Asian players? Surely there needs to be more resources devoted to this problem.

At least Kaepernick started the grift on his way out of the league.

Flores was a young, relatively successful HC. Seemed like he could’ve either run a team or been a DC for another 3 decades and he took this path.

The Bears had an Asian and an Hispanic coach.

They wouldn't need to bring it up at an organizational meeting discussing the need for an Asian or Hispanic coach.

The odd thing about Flores is it isn’t very often a coach gets fired and another head job right away. Even Pederson had to wait a year which is more realistic.

Nor did the lack of handicaps or gays!

It’d be objectively hilarious if they created sufficient incentives that resulted in a flamboyantly gay guy in charge of a team.

Probably would be the bears but that’s funny bad territory.

You have to have something for midgets too. Just not the tall ones.

There were as many midgets as black head coaches in the NFL before yesterday

The people who get the big payday in class action cases are the lawyers. Entrepreneurial lawyers often create a case and then go shopping for an aggrieved person. It's not what we traditionally think where a person is injured and seeks representation. I have a sneaking suspicion that is what happened here.

Good point.
I'm sympathetic to Flores to an extent. I think he's a really good Football coach. The case also points out an obvious issue with the NFL. I do question Flores timing and the lawyers he chose to pursue this. It could and should have been handled better.

What this tells me is that Flores lawsuit prevented the Texans from hiring Josh McCown as head coach.

It’s seemed that way all along. The text of the suit had almost nothing to do with Flores, outside of the three anecdotes, two of which had nothing to do with the underlying point.

What's crazy is their record was about the same down there. Gase 23-25 and Flores 24-25. They need a better GM apparently.

So is it settled yet? Have we reached the appropriate amount of black head coaches?
