They're saying this will go down as 'the 13 seconds game'.

A lot of dumb fans complaining about the overtime rules. Josh Allen would have thrown another TD!

Fuck you, maybe have your defense make a stop?

The Chiefs D was a sieve too; that game’s outcome was decided by a literal coin flip.

Yeah, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Not in the playoffs. Let both teams touch the ball.

I’d rather see them just play the full 10 minutes.

You guys are basically saying that the rule should be that they keep playing until a team DOESN'T score a TD.

I don't like the coin flip. I think the last team to score in regulation should get the ball second.

If you score at the end of regulation the other team should get the ball just like after any score in regulation. If a team has the ball and runs out of time they should start wherever they left off in the 4th quarter.

Play a full 15 minute quarter for OT. Then if it's still tied, FG kickoff. Best of 5.

But the other team gets to pick your kicker.

As you said though, maybe have your defense make a stop.

The rules in the NFL are heavily biased towards offense.

Just start both teams at the 50 yard line and let them play until one scores more than the other.

Keep the 10 minute and tie rule as it is in the regular season.

Boy did this prove to be prescient. This might be the best weekend of football we've seen.

If the other team kicks a field goal, your offense gets a chance to tie it up. I guess I should have said they can still win with a touchdown.

People always complain about the OT rules. Let’s say you give Allen another chance. He scores the TD. Then what do you go back to next score wins?

At some point, it is always going to come down to next score wins. Unless you go to college football’s dumb rules where it goes on endlessly.

You have 60 minutes to win. If you cannot get it done, then at some point you have to end the game.

Usually, the Divisional Round is just highly enjoyable. This was something else altogether. As you said, and several others have said, I don't know if we've ever seen something like this. Unfortunately, I don't think the remaining three games are going to top what we just saw.

Yes, next score wins. Every team should touch the ball once in overtime UNLESS there is a 10 minute drive.

If you give up points with 13 seconds to go in the game, (and your coaches name is Leslie) you don't deserve to win.

Each team gets an at bat in baseball.

Each team should get the ball in OT. In the situation here if Allen took the Bills down the field and scored, then it becomes sudden death.
Team one gets the ball and goes 3 and out, then its sudden death.
Team one gets the ball and scores (TD or FG), team two gets a chance to tie. If no tie, team one wins. If team two ties, sudden death.
If you want to do away with kicking extra points in this scenario and make teams go for two, fine.
Obviously the game is over on a defensive TD or a safety.

For OT in the playoffs start them at the 50 and go until someone scores more on equal possessions.

Flip a coin. Kick it off. if team one scores, team two gets a chance to match or better it, and if they don't they lose. If team two does match the score, play as normal after that, next score wins. If they outscore team one they win. If team one DOESN'T score on their first possession, whether by punt or turnover, continue play as normal until someone scores from that point on, they had their first chance and fucked it up.

Bills fan my entire life. This one was gut wrenching you guys. I've complained about overtime rules before but this has nothing to do with it. the defensive strategy with 13 seconds left is just completely mind numblingly impossible to continue to try and think about. They were playing to the sidelines and TERRIFIED of Hill running free. just unbelievable.

And then the coin flip gives the ball back to KC, and you are in the same spot.

Seems like a pretty simple thing to fix and would end this nonsense of people whining that a team doesnt get a chance to match.
