This keeps up for a few more weeks, I might have to start drinking some purple kool-aid

Some high-level PFF ranks for the Vikings in Week 1:
- Pass offense: 2nd
- Rush offense: 6th
- Tackling: 5th
- Pass rush: 7th
- Pass coverage: 3rd

It's easy to rank third in pass coverage when your opponent replaced Adams with a butterfingers rookie WR. First play of GB's opening drive is a 70 yard TD throw if the front office wasn't filled with a bunch of dumbasses.

Let's see how it goes for the Bears this week.

Vikings 24
Eagles 21 OT

Rick Sosa
@sosarick
The Vikings should take the Eagles seriously but.. Philadelphia has allowed 66 points in their last 2 games with 35 to the Detroit Lions.. if you want to be all that in the NFC you have to win this game

The Vikings are in solo first. We've taken the NFC North and are never going to give it back...for another 23 hours, give or take.

Bears legend Duke Shelley will be taking the field for the Vikings tonight. Not sure that's a positive.

Alec Lewis
@alec_lewis
The Vikings have elevated CB Duke Shelley to the active roster for tonight’s game against the Eagles. (Corresponds to Andrew Booth Jr. being inactive with the quad injury.)

Embarrassing. New coach was wondering how'd they react when they got punch in the mouth and the answer was they'd do nothing. I was not a fan of the DC hire and I was worried about the back end of the defense, but nothing was good tonight on either side of the ball.

If Getsy doesn't watch this game and adjust the Bears offense to what the Eagles do for Hurt, then I don't know what he's thinking.

As for the Vikings....I'll quote the great Jim Mora "Playoffs?, are you kidding me? Playoffs? "

You all should extend Cousins for the next decade.

We probably will and along with that Kwesi will made a trade that allows the Bears to pick up the #1 WR that they need in the next draft. He's already helped the Packers and Lions, why leave the Bears out?

Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback, but he can't take the bright lights.

Cousins on a 1 year deal? Problem is who do you go get to replace him. Outbid the Ravens for Lamar?

Before he hooked up with O'Connell out in LA, Matt Stafford was like 7-69 or something absurd against teams that finished that season with a winning record and 0 for in the playoffs. Stafford didn't completely change the first narrative much--after early season, new-team-honeymoon wins against the Colts/Bucs. Stafford went 1-5 (i think that's right) against winnings teams--the lone win against the dying Cardinals--who even the Lions were scoring wins against at the end of last season.

It would only work if Getsy also aquires Smith and Brown. But Poles doesn't value talent at the WR, TE C, RT, and LT positions.

Maybe so. But I think you could run the Eagles offense with inferior talent and still give Fields a better chance. Just the RPO aspect would be helpful.

You can't. Fields struggles making quick decisions.

The Vikings have run 19 plays from the red zone. Dalvin Cook has one touch.

A seven year old boy was at the center of a county courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy had a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Minnesota Vikings, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

The gods are smiling on me this week. Since the bears are on CBS, the Vikings/Lions game is on Fox. So with the 3 games to start the season, the Thanksgiving night game and the 2 Bears games, I'll be able to see at least 6 Vikings games this year. That's the most I've been able to watch since I had the Sunday ticket a few years ago. #Skol

People didn't believe me.

And I think the Cowboys may be better off with Rush at QB.

I'll be interested to see the Eagles against a good defense and you might be right about the Cowboys. They're forced to simplify things.

Hopefully Dalvin bounces back, meanwhile the Gophers are making Spartan fans regret that Mel Tucker contract.
