While Aaron Rodgers was negotating his contract, he knew Davante Adams would never play for the #Packers again. The situation was too far gone. Something had to give. And when Adams informed GB he wasn’t playing on the tag, talks got fired up. Now, Adams will be on the #Raiders.

Seems like the Packers will only be getting only 1 (low) first round pick for Adams. Most pundits thought Adams could fetch multiple firsts on the trade market. Packer Pollyanna Nation will tell you this is a solid trade(along with the Salary Cap being a myth) but it does seem like a disappointment return for the best WR in football, still in his prime.

What a job of maximizing your investment by the Packers front office. They took Adams with the 53rd pick years ago, got maximum production out of him while he avoided major injury and never spent bad money on him. They then flip him and his massive future salary for a 1st rd pick and .......the 53rd pick and possibly a player.

He was an amazing player for the Packers but they will grow stronger without him. When he played it was like playing madden on easy....most of the time. When he didn't play the offense was forced to be more balanced and did very well going 7-0 the last 3 years. He is going to have a drop off with Carr as his QB....but he got paid for what he has previously done and he is in the city he wants to be in. He bought a house there already this off season.

I can't imagine that the Green Bay locker room is happy. Aaron Rodgers got his $150M, and the Packers were forced to trade their 2nd best player, who happened to be Rodgers' safety blanket. I don't think the Packers are the best team in the division now.

Who would have ever thought Aaron Rodgers would do something that proves divisive?

I think we can see how much he actually cares about winning.

They locker room is excited because they may see the ball now. They will get Olave, MVS back and then pick up a Landry or a Beasley and a TE that they have been sorely lacking. The locker room also remembers Davantae being a diva in the game Rodgers missed this year because Love was not getting him more targets.

Yes, teams love when they lose the best player in the NFL at a position.

We all saw Love repeatedly miss an open Adams. No receiver would be happy about that. The Chiefs lose that game if Love had your accuracy.

I love how the Packer fan narrative has shifted from "Everything is good here" to "We're better off without the best receiver in the NFL".

You can't make this shit up.

Since the board was down all day we didn't even get to discuss the blockbuster poaching of Paddy O from the Bears. Special teams getting better by the day up north!!

Now the Pack's prioritization of acquiring a competent punter makes sense. They're really going to need one next year.

   That's all they could afford after Rodgers signed his 3rd big contract.

Brady is beloved around the league because he routinely leaves money on the table, so players around him can eat, and he can win championships. Rodgers takes all the cash and is disliked by MANY of his peers.

Meh, fuck the Packers and all, but Adams needs Rodgers infinitely more than Rodgers needs Adams. Adams may put up ARob numbers with Carr as his QB and Rodgers will pull a Jordy Nelson out of his ass. Until the playoffs.

This isn't news to anyone who has been paying attention nor is it a particular concern (at this point).

Is it a concern now?

Yes, yes it is. I’m not going to pretend I’m happy about it.

The Packers clearly decided to waive the white flag because they know the Bears are coming.

Davante Adams would rather play with an above average quarterback instead of an all time great quarterback. That should tell you everything you need to know about Greedy Rodgers.

The Packers will now draft the guy at WR that the Bear would have in the 2nd round.

The Packers essentially traded the best WR in football for two 2nd round picks. You can't make this stuff up.

Will he still be the best WR with Carr throwing to him?

Maybe the Packers should bring in OBJ...that would be entertaining.
