Carr isn't the answer to any team's QB issues. I don't think the Raiders will cut him....they don't have a better option at QB

Huh? They told him to fuck off and go home the last week of the season. If they designate Carr a post June 1 cut, they get back 30+ million in cap space, with only 1 million in dead money. A truly awful thought by you.

Good to see you gain some understanding of the cap Bob.

But Carr would still consider playing for the Raiders if something better doesn't come along.

He literally "penned" goodbye letter to the Raiders. We really are teeing up awful thoughts here, aren't we?

No, just your inability to read.

Jimmy Garopolo was gone from the 49ers too.

Not even remotely similar. Was Garaoplo stripped of his starting job last season and sent home? Nope he started in the NFC Championship game, did he pen a goodbye letter to the fans? Nope. Are their contracts similar? Nope. Just stop.

Yes, Garopolo was stripped of a starting job.

Yes, their situations are different.

If Carr doesn't find something else to his liking, he could still end up with the Raiders.

Carr was publicly humiliated by the organization, kind of like how I humiliate you on these forums. He ain't going back. Take you L and go home buddy.

Jimmy G wasn't allowed to practice with the team most of camp. He had to work out on his own.

He was recovering from a shoulder injury. Unlike with Jimmy G, the Raiders aren't trying to get any compensation in return for Carr. They just want the cap savings.

And the 49ers officially said good bye to Garoppolo, and then took him back.

The Raiders made a business decision to sit Carr, so he didn't end up injured, because then his contract would have been guaranteed.

Carr has a no trade clause, so they can't trade him. They will release him and if he doesn't sign somewhere else, he will still be willing to listen to offers from the Raiders.

The 49ers don't recognize divorce either.

Carr wouldn't want to hurt his new team by giving away picks, he'd have to get an extension to the team he wants .say Indy.. it could happen for a 4th rounder.

Going to be interesting to see what he does.

Carr grew up wanting to play for the Raiders. He would love to continue to play for the Raiders.

I have family that went to high school with him, and are still in touch with him. Carr is a family first guy who is in no hurry to uproot his family. And he was the opposite of humiliated when they chose to sit him and risk injury. It's a business that he understands well.

Carr is miscast as a leading man. His ceiling is Flacco 2011 instead of Mahomes 2022, which is what the Raiders hoped he'd be. If he stays in LAV he'll just end up as Flacco 2022. He best separate.

I would agree that he may have already hit his ceiling.

I think Carr would be better off in Indianapolis, they have a great ground game and 2 very good receivers. He'd be better off being play action QB in a good system.

Agreed.

But if this is what Indy is looking for, then out the window goes one of the teams that has been rumored to be pushing for a trade with the Bears.

I don't see how Indy can't attempt a fourth straight retread QB.

If they can't draft the QB they want at 4, what other choice will they have?

Sell their fortune to the Bears for the#1 overall pick. I want their 2023 1st and 2nd rounder, their 2024 1st rounder and 3rd, DeForest Buckner and David Putney

They likely have to trade up to get one of the top 2 qbs. It depends on if they are willing to accept any of the top 3 quarterbacks because they'll likely only have access to that one. I don't know if that will be Levis or Stroud and they may not even know until it is their turn.

Free agency happens before the draft. Carr won't be on the market for months.

Which doesn't help the Bears if they are looking to trade with Indy.

It wouldn't. The odds are that they'd prefer one of the top 2 quarterbacks though.

If not, someone else will trade for the pick. The Bears really hold all the cards unless the expectation is that no other team in the NFL besides the Colts and Texans want a quarterback.

Maybe, but I don't want to miss out on Will Anderson, so it better be the Texans.

The Texans aren't going to give you much though in terms of draft picks. You'll get more value trading with the Colts and getting the second best non-QB in the draft.

Atlanta also needs a quarterback. Will Anderson won't be there. Myles Murphy probably will.

Do they like Ridder enough to give him a full year?

If i were the Colts, I'd already be preparing for Will Levis or taking best available player. No way I'd mortgage the ranch for Stroud or Young. I think the Bears best trade partner will be outside the top 5 currently.
