What could you not like about Josh Allen or Herbert? Big athletic guys who can run, throw on the run and always look for big plays downfield. Add Lance to that list soon.

This will age just like your Mitch - Josh Allen menutia.

I like Fields, he belongs in the league as a starter, slightly better Jameis Winston. Trey Lance is going to be a star, Josh Allenesque.

 Well done FF. Glad to have you back.

Bears fans want a Packers QB to be bad? Shocking.

I want all NFC North quaterbacks to be bad besides the Bears and I'm sure you feel the same way about the teams your team plays twice a year.

Well I will grant you this - I don’t live in my teams territory so I dont have to deal with the day-to-day annoyance of eagles fans getting in my face after each beating they put on my team so I don’t feel the loathing towards Hurts or any any other QB in the division or league some folks seem to feel towards Rodgers and now Love, even though he’s hardly even played. There was a time many years ago where young mofo lashed out at eagles fans gloating about Jaworski, Mike quick and wilbert Montgomery though.

I wouldn't care if Packers fans rebuilt my house after a fire. I would still want their quarterback to suck.

It's not out of hate. It's out of wanting my team to do better.

Do you think the Packers fans wish that the Bears had an elite quarterback history?

i think a lot of it has to do with recent history. I dont think the Packers fans worry about Justin Fields and the Bears as much as the other way around because they have been beating the Bears consistently for 30 years. The team being oppressed is usually the chippier fanbase, not just in this case, but across the board in all rivalries in all sports. I dont think the Packers fans wish the Bears had an elite QB, but I don't think they feel particularly threatened by the Bears. That could change in a few years if there is a new world order in the division.

Yeah, Packers fans don't laugh at the Bears for how bad their QB play has been for decades.

Still though, I don't think it is controversial to want the teams you play twice a year and compete with for a playoff spot to have poor production from the most important position on the team.

Lance hasn't had a chance to showcase his skills BECAUSE OF INJURY.. well see how he performs this year.. Purdy will probably be hurt to start the season and Lance get a couple starts.

Lance has looked brutal when he has played. He needed more time to develop than Richardson does. Now, he has an injury setback and Purdy owns the locker room.

Just because the Packers unloaded $105.3 million in future earnings to the Jets, doesn’t mean they are off the hook from a salary cap standpoint.

The amount Rodgers counts against the salary cap this year actually went up from $31.6 million to $40.3 million, and the amount the Packers are under the salary cap went down from $22.2 million to $12.6 million.

so this alters the results of the trade a little bit. Packers have to carry the burden of a 40.3 million cap hit for Rodgers to play somewhere else.
That's not good.

That's a small price to pay to save $60M, swap first round picks, get a 2nd round pick, and possibly another first round pick for this year's version of Matt Ryan.

I wouldn't say brutal, very small sample size.

I think you, Walt, and Brick are confused here. That's nothing new. We always knew there was gonna be a $40M dead cap hit if Rodgers was traded. It won't be a problem for GB this year with Love's salary.

Yup. Still a pretty easy W for GB

That's an odd response. Yes, we already knew about it, so why are you guys acting like its news or alters the trade?

Oh ok.

What negative impact do you think the dead cap hit will have on the 2023 Packers considering FA is mostly over?

I'll guess we will see what the Jets are able to do in free agency to take advantage of Rodgers only counting $1.165M.

Indeed. Maybe they can use the savings to be the latest team to overpay for Jadeveon Clowney's services. Not a whole lot of guys left I'm worried about missing out on.

They may need it to sign OBJ and other castoffs Rodgers supposedly wanted the Jets to have on the offense.

i dont know if any of it matters. rodgers looks OLD AS SHIT. hes not doing the required cardio to play at an elite level, it's clear. he will do what he usually does. some good games, some bad games, probably makes the playoffs and gets assraped.
