A source said that Love's deal will only raise his salary cap number $10-12 million, which means the Packers will still have roughly $18 million in cap space for the rest of this season. They came into the day $30 million under the cap and have enough money left over to add a big salary before the year is over.

By the way, kudos to Brick. Fairly certain he has been on the $50M train the longest.

This contract is probably great news for the Bears and the Bears have a kid who should be a franchise quarterback. Wipe your eyes and pop a bottle.

Love's 2023 season:
Weeks 1-10: 48.2 QBR
Weeks 11-18: 75.4 QBR

It will be interesting to see how Love's season progresses in 2024. Love eviscerated the Bears last year in part because they were completely unable to pressure him. Right now, there's no reason to think things will change this season. I do think the Packers will have some challenges adjusting to the loss of Aaron Jones, who is going to be a major asset to the Vikings if he can stay healthy.

Love generally made quick decisions. When he had to think more, he appeared to struggle. He was effective, but he didn't wow me. I'm not sure if his effectiveness was him figuring things out or the coach scheming guys open.

I think it was both. It was amazing how open his receivers were on some plays, but he also made some high-level throws into very tight windows during the second half of the season.

If it was MLF then he should have coached them open in the 1st half of the season. The improvement was primarily in Love’s accuracy and recognition. The maturation of the rookie receivers certainly helped with the openness though.

He eviscerated the Bears in game 1 because Alan Williams was a dope of a DC.

Game 2, not so much.

It's like what Fox News says, sometimes the facts aren't important. It's about how you feel. Did it feel like J Love had a better Week 18 game?

That's like asking someone if they prefer to be murdered by gunshot or stabbing. Either way you end up dead.

If the Bears start Bagent in week 18 they may have won.

But they didn't. And the Bears lost. And the Pack never punted. And Love threw for a first down almost every time he dropped back. And on and on....
