My initial thought is of course not. On the other hand, http://www.espn.com/nfl/history/leaders/_/stat/rushlead |

This is a different era of football for running backs. Finishing top 5 annually in yards from scrimmage while playing on one of the worst offenses in the league should pay off. |

None of these guys get in until Warrick Dunn gets in, that's my take. |

Never came to my mind as a dominant HOF type player |

Shout out to Thomas Jones cracking the top 25 |

Always thought FFL was useful for WR/RB arguements. If they player didn’t spend 4 or 5 years as a consensus top 5 pick, keep him out of my HOF |

I thought maybe Jones but I actually don't think he was. I'd say you can make a decent argument that Gore in his prime was the worst player on that 25 man list. The longevity at this position in this sport is truly impressive though. |

Gore's stats are much better than Jerome Bettis. |

Hank Aaron wasn't ever the best player or a top 5 player in baseball but he was consistently great to really good for decades. |

Based on those yards, he's a no brainer. |

The guy is a machine. |

I'm definitely a lot more open to the argument that Gore's a HOFer on the basis of longevity and counting stats than I am to the similar one for Witten. |

one that about Gore that distinguished him is that yes, he was great with the 49ers for a long time, but when he went to the Colts, he was just as productive . Most guys, when they change teams after a long time with one team, fall off a cliff. the other thing is that in a pass-happy era, he singlehandedly won defensive struggles many times. think about all the time Luck was hurt, think about the QB struggles the 49ers had for most of those years. |

Just can't do it. I don't want consistent in my NFL HOF, I want greatness. He had 1 great year, 2006. That season ranks 35th for all time rushing yards and 26th all time yards from scrimmage. In a list (250 names) of single season rushing and all purpose yards, those are his only entries. Also never top 2 in rushing yards for a seaon. |

No. He had some nice seasons with the Niners but at no point in his career did I feel like I was watching an all time great. |

I wouldn't have spent a single dollar or afternoon's time to watch him play, same as Curtis Martin. So hell no. |

Frank Gore strikes me as the football Harold Baines, without the premature number retirement and with about 50 points less IQ. |

Curtis Martin was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012. And if he plays anywhere but New York (or Dallas), imo he wouldn't haven't gotten in. Hall of Very Good/Consistent/Professional/Long term period. |
