Do the #1 seeds play the lowest seed left after the first round or do they get the the winner of the 4/5 game?

They get to pick their opponent. The decision.

Low seed. Still seems like a good shot that the board will get a Stafford-GB matchup.

That is really good news for the Packers, I mean they wouldn't want to have to play the unbeatable Caller Bobs in the 2nd round

I'm not saying this because the Packers have it but this playoff format is a huge mistake. The #1 seed gets a massive advantage for no real good reason.

You get a week off. You then get to play a team that is lucky to even make the playoffs or the worst division champ. It's basically a bye to the conference title game which you then get to host.

could see the 49ers upsetting the Cowgirls.

Eagles have δt→0 chance of winning.

Unless Kyler Murray decides to run again, Rams carry Stafford to his first playoff W

Niners-Packers Shanahan/LaFleur 2nd round would be fun.

But isnt that important to help keep the regular season meaning something? And if the higher seeds win out then they will face the #4 seed. That is not really playing a team that is lucky to make the playoffs...

The #4 seed is the worst division champ. Normally, that's a team that is average.

Home field advantage throughout is still the important advantage making it worthwhile to get the 1 seed.

Also a chance you get a hot hand wild card team. Probably rather play the Rams or Cowboys or Cardinals even than the Niners right now.

I agree it is a huge advantage and makes the regular season really important.

I hate the Packers having the 1 seed, but don't mind the set up

i still think it's a bit unfair to only have the #1 seed get a bye. the #1 and #2 seed could share the same record but a 13-3 team has to play on wild card weekend against potentially a hot team coming in. like hussra mentioned, even though they're the #6 seed technically, i wouldn't want to play the 49ers.

Agreed. 49ers will beat Dallas and Philly has zero chance of beating any other playoff team.

In my happiest of world's, Stafford and the Rams beat the Packers at some point, but I know that's a pipe dream.

This, though it wouldn't surprise me to see AZ win.

I'm going eagles over Bucs

Defense is not as good as last year
Godwin being out is a fatal blow. Brown quitting hurts

I think people are sleeping on a full strength Cowboys team. Mike McCarthy rolling into Lambeau in the conference championship will be a fun little story.

Prescott has been erratic. 5TD game then a dud, 5TDs then a dud, things like that. He was on fire for the first four weeks or whatever. Elliot is crippled and bad anyway.

I would love this as a Cowboys fan, but I'm afraid the 49ers are going to pull the upset.

Really a lot of good games in the first week. Especially Buffalo/New England.

It's just too bad that LA wet the bed yesterday, I would've loved to see my SAINTS end Brady's career. A little payback if you will.

Didn't even think of that, but yes....Mike McCarthy rolling into GB and beating the Packers would be hilarious.
No chance, though....the only other playoff team I see Dallas beating is Philly.

Perhaps they could use it on a quarterback.

Or anyone who can actually make the team better. Yes, I know that's a foreign concept to Bear fans.

We know our team sucks right now and has been sucky for the better part of the past decade. You aren't breaking news here. We're also not crying about our 9-8 team not being able to 'end' Tom Brady's career.

I'll take Fields over Hill going forward.

Taysom Hill plays like QBs used to play before they evolved into what they are today.

I'm not a Taysom Hill fan, nor did I expect much more this season. But maybe next time you should aspire to be good enough to end someone's career.

Other than your own coaches and quarterbacks.
