HELL TO THE FUCKING NO! I hope the subject isn't even broached among voters.

He'll be considered unfortunately, but I'm not sure he makes it. At least he's better than Eli, who will get in, and Romo, who will also have a large contingent of supporters.

Eli shouldn't get in, he probably will. Romo has as much chance at getting in as Cutler( none)

Rivers is getting in, He's better than Eli and Romo.. I'd put Rivers in.

I can overlook the "No Superbowl" thing if a QB consistently has a team in playoff convo. Too many 8-8, 7-9 seasons with Rivers. That should NOT happen with a HOF worthy QB. Romo is a hell no as well.

What has Rivers ever accomplished in the NFL?

If you let Rivers in, then might as well let Stat Paddford in too.

He'll finish up with around 420 touch downs.

2015 and 2016(Seasons in which Rivers was 100% healthy) automatically disqualify him from the Hall of Fame. If you are a Hall of Fame QB, still near your prime, your team should NEVER win less than 7-8 games.

Someone pointed out last night that there's a decent chance Padford ends up with the yardage record. Which is just depressing and will become infuriating when people start treating him as a Hall of Famer.

Finishing a playoff game on a torn ACL while No Heart Ladanian sat on the sideline in his Darth Vader helmet was memorable

And he now has Megatron 2.0 in Golladay.

I'm never going to talk about him and Eli as HOFers tho. They aren't.

They might as well count steps football players take on a field, and tally that. Seriously, passing yardage means zero/zilch.

Well, say what you want about Rivers and Eli - but had careers that mirror each other identically in terms of length and endurance - in retrospect what a remarkable draft-day trade that was. Sure, Rivers gets the nod statistically, but Eil gets the nod with the Super Bowls. Both guys fit in perfectly with the organizations they landed with, and that may have not been the case had they not been traded. Both have accumulated huge stats over long careers. Both have gotten the shit beat out of them and gotten up every time and answered the bell. I dont think there is any way both of them are NOT in. You win multiple SB's you are getting in no matter what, and Eli's numbers are certainly prolific enough to back that up. The question with Rivers is whether just the numbers are enough.

I'm just at the acceptance phase with Eli. By the time he's up for votes, the Super Bowls and New York extra credit will be too much to keep him out, regardless of how much longer he stinks it up for the Giants. It's better for my own sanity to argue about guys who are more borderline at this point, which is why I get angrier about the burgeoning Romo revisionism for instance.

Rivers is in, no question. There shouldn't be much of a debate.

Hasn't missed a game in his career.

50k passing yards.

Marino at least made a Superbowl and consistently got his team to 12+ wins and deep in the playoffs. He also didn't play in this pass happy era that Rivers did. Not even a close comp. Marino came up with the blueprint that destroyed the Bears 46 defense for good.

that's fair, so your stance is that nobody who hasn't won a super bowl should be in the HOF?

Quarterback only argument...If you haven't even appeared in a superbowl, no I don't think you are in. The formula works very well, if you look at it. If you couldn't even get to a Superbowl, once in your career, than ya just were not that great.

Quarterbacks only, who is getting excluded using this argument? I'm not talking about other positions.

Moon, Cunningham, and Fouts. The problem for Rivers is I don't think he's as good as any of those guys either.

Aaron Rodgers is the difference between Green Bay going 12-4 vs 4-12. Every season. The Chargers went 4-12 with Rivers just a few seasons ago. That's the difference between Hall of Fame and Hall of Very Good.

Cunningham isn't in the HOF, nor should he be.

That's sexist.
