Melvin Gordon going the route of Lev Bell. Looks like it might go in to the season.

Excellent news. I'm rooting for an extended impasse.

Bears play the Chargers on 10/27.

To be fair that’s slightly misleading. Justin Jackson will be Gordon’s running backup while Ekeler picks up more of a workload than if Gordon was playing.

Mike Daniels released by GB today. Low class move by the Packers to do it right before camp starts. Some team is gonna get a good DL.

Attempting a hold out should result in an immediate forfeiture of any currently agreed upon guaranteed funds and a year suspension from the NFL.

Lots of luck getting the NFLPA to agree to that

Nope. Just like with Sitton and Lang they know when to cut bait with a player. Should’ve done it in the spring though.

Any holdout that misses games does result in forfeiture of funds.

Make contracts guaranteed and I'd listen.

Fuck the NFLPA. Fans won't know the difference in the quality of play from scabs. Just remove surnames from the backs of jerseys. Play football.

Ask the AAF or the McMahon league.

And it was horrid dreck when they tried it before in the NFL.

A lot has changed since 1987. People want the NFL shield because they are comfortable with it. Their Sundays are defined by it. As long as it is on the TV and they recognize the colors and logos, there won't be a big stink.

FOX Sports jingle will always get their nips hard.

That’s a bad take.

The second he returns, that'll change back to the massive Saints advantage. And btw, except at C, the Saints' OL is superior at every position. Especially when the annual Long injury happens.

I can't blame any player who does it in the last year of their rookie deal. Those deals are almost completely non-negotiable.

I do think there is an issue with someone who signs a huge deal with a huge signing bonus to get the money up front and then is mad that in the last year they aren't getting paid a huge amount per year.

Why? I imagine most fans aren't upset when a team cuts a player who isn't very good to save millions of dollars. I would be more understanding if we were talking about fully guaranteed contracts.

i used to be pro team... but now, im pro player... hold out and get your money. if they can easily discard you if you get seriously hurt... then you should be able to use whatever leverage you have to get more money now

There must be a penalty for not adhering to the contract that you signed.
