Kitchens apparently didn’t know. His incompetence shows again. An old pro like Shurmur probably cleared out his desk this past Friday |

Can’t see Garrett surviving. |

Garrett and Shurmur will get the dignity of going on Black Monday like good and proper soldiers. I thought Marrone was entitled to this too (Kitchens was certainly not). Should be a couple surprises though, always are. I also dont think every team in the playoffs is safe, if Minnesota goes one-and-done I dont know what happens. |

I think Zimmer is safe. I don’t think Cousins is if they lose next week. |

WASH close to signing Rivera. You know he is going to get paid big time to take that job from that owner. |

Who most deserves to be fired but won't be? I think I go Gase > Patricia > Taylor > Quinn, but I could see an argument for any order. |

I'd like to think O'Brien gets axed if the Texans go one and done again, but I thought the same thing last year too. |

Cousins will start for another 5-7 years in the league. |

All of them should go but Taylor never should've hired in the first place unless their plan was just to fire him once the job looked less hopeless, which now with Burrow its probably not a bad looking gig. |

I agree there's no real reason that Taylor should've been hired in the first place, but it at least makes some sense when the team in question is owned by cheap Mike Brown. With Gase though, I have no idea how the Jets looked at his time in Miami and decided that's what they needed. |

gase has proven to be a giant bag of a person. i'd be surprised if he was retained. he achieved guru status as peyotn's token OC... which always threw me... i recall hub was a BIG FAN of him too a few years ago. there are so many articles of what a prick this guy is, and as a coach the results havent been there i couldnt believe there was talk of marrone staying, that was the dictionary definition and photo of a team that needs a new coach... and when coughlin got fired it in my eyes sealed it.. yet you still had media dopes trying to push narratives that it wasnt for certain. looks like schurmur just got fired.... that was a bad hire day one. i cant believe rivera would take the WASH job, must be a truckload of money, and when it ends poorly he's not getting a third go at the HC job. |

Bruce Allen gone. Doesn’t matter. Nothing but failure ahead with Snyder in the picture. I’m surprised Ron Rivera wants to join this trash organization. |

The Falcons already said Quinn and their GM would be back next season. I have no idea how Patricia can get another year, but I've learned to never underestimate the incompetence that the Lions display year in and year out. If the Vikings really want to improve their team, they should offer to eat a boatload of cash and trade Cousins to the Bears. It would be a double win for the Vikes. They could then get a better QB and the Bears would be saddled with a QB who is better than Mitch, but can't win a big game. |

Peoria Matt wrote: Marrone also gone. Zombie Doug Marrone? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... h-for-now/ Quote: On Saturday, ESPN reported that the Jaguars had informed coach Doug Marrone that he was fired, effective upon the conclusion of Sunday’s game against the Colts. Sunday’s game against the Colts has come and gone, and Marrone has not been fired.
On Sunday, ESPN softened its report to indicate merely that Marrone would be fired after the conclusion of Sunday’s game against the Colts, subtly dropping the claim that he’d already been informed he’s out. Again, Sunday’s game against the Colts has come and gone, and Marrone has not been fired. This doesn’t mean he’s safe. He’s due to meet with owner Shad Khan later this week. But with the carousel already spinning, and with teams already lining up candidates, time is of the essence. If a coach is going to be fired, there’s no reason to let it linger. So we’ll see whether Marrone eventually is fired. But it’s safe to say that the reports from the weekend indicating that he’d be out as soon as the season ended were not accurate. |

All I remember about ga$e was that he had that one quality year as a bears OC (where he turned jay into a gay/game-manager and the bears were like .500 with a nice thanksgiving night win over the packers or something) then he left, they sacrificed jay as the scapegoat the next year, and the offense devolved until nagy year 1, which of course would go on to devolve again in nagy year 2. the best part about John Fox was that he was the anti-trestman in that he could get quality assistant coaches/coordinators in, but then once ga$e left and it went to loggaints it was just downhill until the comfy mirage of your 2018 Chicago Bears. |

Gase played the Jets perfectly by having the same agent as Darnold and their GM. Seriously it was a genius move by him. |

Uh why did the Dolphins fire their offensive coordinator? Mad about too many wins but can't fire the head coach for PR reasons? |

Rivera taking that job is like a statement that he wants to retire from coaching. There are no other jobs that will be offered once he flames out there. I hope he gets a big pay day. Next stop is a weekly show with Lawrence. |
