So who do you keep?

Here is a list of some of the Packers’ free agents heading into the 2021 offseason. Who do they keep? Who would you keep?

My thoughts: Jones and Linsley are gone. Both losses will hurt but their positions have competent players behind them and the cap doesn’t provide room for luxury signings. I think they resign Williams if he doesn’t cost too much. King is gone & good riddance. Tonyan will be interesting. I could see some team making him an offer just to put the Packers in a bind. I like him but if that happens I’d let him go. He’s fine but replaceable. Lazard will be back. The others don’t matter much one way or the other.

Id like to see Linsley back if they can do. Imo the rest are expendable. I enjoyed the Jones era but you don’t pay RBs. I’d only bring Jamal back if it’s basically the vet minimum, otherwise I think they should take a day 2 RB to pair with Dillon and then a day 3/UDFA guy to fill out the RBs.

Linsley is outstanding but he is going to be expensive and they have a track record of developing solid interior lineman. The 2nd best center in the league was the guy they let go in favor of linsley.

King can fuck off.

Jones will be in Jacksonville.

Lewis is a solid vet presence and seems to be the elder leader of the team even though Rodgers is older than him.

Adams blows, Snacks won't want to come back.

Lane Taylor would be good to keep around if Linsley leaves.

Redmond is a vet minimum guy and I don't really care if he comes back or not.

I would like Williams back. He is a solid special teamer, exceptional blocker and a solid runner when he is fed.

They need to extend big bob before free agency so some dickhead gm doesn't price gouge them on him.


They packers don't have a great deal of cap space but......they are cutting preston smith after june 1st and that should save them 12 mil with a 4 mil hit. They could do the same with zadarius but he is usually productive. He is a 9 mil hit with 17 mil savings. Dean Lowry should get gut with Preston. He blows and saves them 4.5 I think. Same with Rick Wagner.

They should pay JK Scott to never show his face or foot in Green Bay again as well.

I pretty much agree with all of that but I don’t think cutting Zadarius should even be considered. He’s been great for 2 years and they don’t have a replacement.

Robinson makes 560k and will be their RB until his contract is up. Somebody will pay Jones..not the Jags though.

Preston is for sure gone but they are going to have to turn that money right around into someone else. They don't have any depth at that position beyond Gary and Z and both those. I want to see a corner signed. No more drafting shit like jackson and king and hoping they turn into Jaire. They could have and SHOULD have resigned Breeland.

I agree they need some more depth on the edge but they aren’t going to be able to use all of Smiths money. Like most teams they need to pare salary and he will provide the biggest gain. Maybe they’ll take a flyer on an aging vet like they did with Peppers.

Tonyan is average, You really suck at evaluating Tight Ends, A great QB ( Rogers) makes EVERYONE look better. Like I told you last year, Montgomery could swap places with Jones and nobody would notice. Valdez- Scandling and Lazard ain't shit..Mercedes Lewis blows. Give the guy some real talent and he can Win a SB.

Tonyan had more TD catches than incomplete passes thrown to him for the entire season. Think about that for a second. Pefect QB rating when targeted. He was quite easily, and inarguably, one of the five best tight ends in the NFL this year.

It's ok to admit you don't know much about a lot of these guys who don't play for the Bears.

And yes, if Jones was replaced by a plodder like Montgomery, it would be quite noticeable. Only someone who is truly country dumb thinks an electric guy like Jones is interchangeable with a guy like Montgomery.

I picked up Tonyan week 4 for FF( which I won) I know all about him. He was wide open on almost every grab. That's a great QB making an average guy look great.

You both missed the point, Rogers is so good he makes bums look good. Tonyan was wide open and caught some balls, like Leonard Floyd having 9 sacks this year and was unblocked on 7 of em. Floyd still sucks. If Rogers had a Waller or Kittle they would have 100 catches for 1k yards.
