Some of those early Bears championships were pretty cheap compared to the modern era. Packers Patriots Steelers 49ers Cowboys |

Steelers Bears 49ers Patriots Cowboys Packers don't make it because they were never the dominant team of an era. |

Anyway, if we don't consider 5 titles in a 7 year span a dominant team of an era then I don't think we have ever had any dominant teams in any era |

C'mon. We can troll Packers fans all day long about MANY things. Them being one of the top 5 franchises in NFL history is not one of them. |

If it were not for Halas and the Bears there would be no NFL and no permanently salty Packers fans from the hinterlands. This whole enterprise owes its existence to the Bears franchise, still owned by that founding family. Waving dicks about championships won when the games were broadcast on the radio is a fool's errand. Even more so is championship reductionist thought. Some things matter more than titles. These are things the Packers will never have. If I had to trade the Bears prestigious image as the charter franchise for the Packers' status as Officially Licensed Team of the Double Wide I wouldn't do it. Not for all the championships in the world. |

That's silly America. I'd trade it all for a Super Bowl in my lifetime. The goal is to win titles. The White Sox are tied to gang shootings and tire fires. If they win, I couldn't care less what their image is. Same with the Bears. |

The top five all have fairly new, partly taxpayer funded stadiums as a BIG part of that worth. |

Old teams: Bears, Packers, Steelers AFL era teams: Cowboys, Patriots, Raiders Modern teams: Ravens That's seven, so take off the Raiders and Ravens. Second five, in no order: Raiders, Ravens, Giants, 49ers, tie between Chiefs/Broncos. |

The Rams stadium construction was funded privately as well. Yes, they're getting tax breaks, but that's pretty common. I'm pretty confident the Bears and Packers enjoy similar tax advatages. Pretty common. Given the Bears don't even own their stadium, I was pretty surprise to see them as high at #6. Net worth matters. Too bad it doesn't translate to championships. |
