Dipshit, they didn't "transition" from Madden, the Super Bowl rotates through the three networks and Madden jumped from Fox to ABC, then he retired after 2008.

Patriots-Rams was a Fox game. It's been AFC/NFC/GotW since the big Fox deal in '94, except for one hiccup in there where NBC/AFC got an extra game. I want to say it was XXX.

Hey Whistler,

Can you start a thread on ABC's mysterious transition away from Peter Jennings sometime in 2005? That dude was the best anchor on TV until the whack jobs at ABC abruptly changed course in 2005. They should know to never fix what isn't broke. Anyway, would be grateful if you can put your considerable analytical skills to work on this one.

What do you mean mysterious transition away from Peter Jennings? He died so they replaced him.

interesting how this team had Gronk, Aaron Hernandez, & Wes Welker, and had trouble scoring.

Also thought it was interesting how Julian Edelman was just a kickoff returner. Musta been his rookie year. At that time, noone knew who he was.

I think it was the following year where Welker left and Edelman took his place.

Also Brady set a SB record in this game with 14 or 15 consecutive completions.

49ers vs Ravens

on NFL Network now.

Forgot that this was the game with that temporary power outage in the 3rd quarter.

And hard to believe Baltimore was up 28-6 in this game. Ended up a close game to the end.

dont remember that they intercepted Brady twice in this game.

They looked so good up 24-14, it still burns me that they blew this game.

They just showed last year's Super Bowl. They will replay it again tonight.

Chiefs looked lost with 7 minutes left.

Garopollo was 18-21 for 190 yds at that time, Mahomes was 18-29, 170 yds with 0 TD and 2 INT.

And then somehow it just turned around. Basically the difference was the QB's. Garopollo's mediocrity was hidden by his great defense but once that broke down he was exposed.

Chiefs scored 3 TD's in 6 minutes to win 31-20.

Strange to see such a huge and loud crowd, with Covid slowly making its way around. Seemed most were Chief fans. I wonder how many of those fans felt Covid symptoms after the damn game.

Just goes to show you that even in a Super Bowl, the team that is dominating the majority of the game, even with 7 minutes left, doesn't always win.
