Killing time waiting on the rest of the Last Dance. Been watching a couple Bears friends online have a debate about which QB they would rather have to start their NFL team.

So what say you CFMB? If you could have one of these guys to lead your NFL team which one would you pick and why?

no

At this point, there is not an argument to be made to hypothetically take Mitch over Cutler.

Definitely Cutler.

This isn't even a debate.

Edit: Cutler. In before Nas quoted it with "I know. Mitch".

Can I move on from Cutler after year 4?

Both are very similar quarterbacks as they really only feel comfortable with throwing to a receiver, not throwing a receiver open. Cutler had the better arm, while Mitch is the better teammate. Overall it's a tie with the only loser being the Chicago Bears organization.

This is a really bad thread, FF. Mitch is only better than about four QBs from last season. And that's not to say he's definitively better - it's just that he sucks less than those other four.

This is like asking if you'd rather have Khalid al-Amin or x. Why even bring him into the conversation? He's a nobody.

For a game you take Cutler, but I think the big issue is that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't waste 8 years here at a massive salary cap hit like Cutler did as we waited for him to become something better than he was.

I'd take Josh McCown over both. Awful thread BTW

Waiting on Mitch is wasting something - the opportunity to find someone better.

Who is waiting on him though? Did you miss the news that he likely has already been moved to backup for next year?

Not good enough for me. They brought in someone to "compete" while what's best is someone to "replace" him entirely. I'm fine with him as a backup for now though there are better options.

You have never given a name on who could "replace" him for next year that would be a better option than Nick Foles.

I have. Winston and Newton are much better options than Foles.

You mean two guys the league seems to not be interested in signing unless they absolutely have to?

If I got to pick the coach, other personnel, etc. I would take Mitch. You absolutely could not, under any circumstances, win a title with Cutler. True Mitch isn't a playmaker but you can structure an offense where he won't turn the ball over.

Yeah, when no one on either team can catch your ball you're not gonna throw many INTs. Backing a QB because he doesn't throw the ball well to any team sounds like a solid recipe for success.

Horrible logic. Jonathan Quinn was employed by a NFL team. That means he's obviously a good option over someone who may not be in the league.

That doesn't make any sense. The amount of money a player makes is important. If Winston or Newton were willing to sign for the league minimum then they would be signed right now.

In what world is Mitch better than Newton or Winston?

If cost wasn't an issue, I would rather have Newton over (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Foles. I still think he has a lot of question marks. I do think it was dumb to trade for Foles when you could have waited to see what happened with others.

Winston just isn't good.

This is actually a bit of a valid point. Cutler was always good enough to think you could rein him in one year and he'd throw for forty tugs and like five thousand yards. The Bears spent nearly a decade chasing that dream.

Meanwhile Mitch only had two years as a starter before they started shooing him out the door and if Kyle Long is to be believed he may not even be on the roster this time next week.

Winston signs to be qb3 with Saints.
