So far so good from a Bears fan perspective.

Packers take a no impact player in 2020

Lions take a replacement for their best defensive player at a lower impact position

Vikings did nicely but I think his best position is the slot, so they got themselves a good third receiver. My guess is the next pick is Xavier McKinney which would also be a nice move.

I was surprised the Lions couldn't get the Chargers or the Dolphins to move up to 3... guess they had scouted each other enough to know they were truly looking at different QBs or they felt the risk wasn't worth it because if the other one takes their guy, they just make a run with the other QB.

We'll see what Minnesota does but yup, gotta love how this is shaping up. Bears may be able to backdoor this division with eight or nine wins, but they absolutely need to knock these two second-rounders out of the park in order for me to entertain that idea.

FUCK had we just not totally blown it in free agency this division is ripe. Green Bay is going to totally self destruct under the Rodgers insurgency.

Vikings take cb gladney from tcu. Vikings have been horrible at scouting cb and I view tcu defenders as system players

Bears may get better players at 43 and 50 than any of these teams have gotten with their firsts. Justifies the Mack trade. I don’t even think the raiders did very well with that pick

I like Justin Jefferson a lot but he probably wont be better than Diggs. Vikings overall haven't improved at all, and the Cousins thing is still a massive joke.

Lions had probably the worst first-round of any team until the Packers kamikazed themselves.

Cousins a joke? He just beat the Saints in NOLA and threw for 400 yards.. in his two years in Minnesota he's got 56 TD and 16 picks.

Guess we're both happy with it. I like when my division rival trades two 1sts for a guy who takes off every other game

Really stretching to fit the narrative here. CB is the most impactful position on defense. It's surpassed DE/EDGE

I appreciate dolphin's optimism, but having multiple holes to fill and question marks up and down the roster is not what Khalil Mack envisioned in his 3rd year with this franchise.

For example, any member of the Bears OL would have a hard time making the RAIDERS' roster. Maybe the practice squad.

Maybe.

Do the Bears now have the 5th best quarterback in the NFC North starting for them?

Yeah but they have the 6th best backing him up. Depth.

Even if you don't agree, calling CB a lower impact position is pretty inaccurate.

Nope. Clown on the Packers and that has merit. Detroit and Minnesota didn't fuck up last night.

We went through this analysis a couple of years ago with the Bears having a top pick and both Hooker and Lattimore (adams as well) being exceptional talents at a huge position of need. I was a guy who wanted them but the collective wisdom of the board changed my mind. A CB simply does not impact the same amount of plays as others. The Lions desperately wanted out of that position because they believed they could get that same guy further down the draft.

you got a college team's #2, not a pro team's, and are crowing

enjoy. I'm sure he'll step it up once the pressure is on him to cover a team's #1

Perhaps you've read one too many mock drafts. The groupthink with you draftniks is a bit much.

Bear fans are never more annoying than when their team has no No. 1 picks.

Of course FF would take this position. 3/4 of the Pack's roster is comprised of cornerbacks.

That said, I actually concur with the idea that the position is undervalued.

It's not like I'm saying the pick sucks. I'm saying as an opponent it doesn't create fear. Good CB are created by a good pass rush

A big topic on Boston sports talk over the past few years has been how the Patriots have operated inversely by using a very good secondary to enhance their pass rush.

I haven't analyzed the Pats. Even good coverage breaks down with sufficient time. Maybe Boston has a different opinion but there are 4+ receivers under various positions names on the field at any one time. What team goes 4+ deep in quality coverage people.

The one that was supposed to be really like a first-round pick? You're going to need it.

Its a bad sign when the player drafted is the smallest guy in the room with his family. Dont like Okudah at all.
