He should have never left Hawaii and Hawaii should have never let him walk away. They both had a relevancy with that program. People would actually watch games from the island late at night even when they didn't gamble on the game. They were in bowls every year and were competitive even with modest talent. From Jones' perspective, he was in Hawaii with a big salary and very little pressure. That sounds like the life to me, although I'm sure recruiting was a grind
