It’s a bit risky as picking up the 5th year is an expensive decision. If you don’t, you gave up a lot for 1 year. If he’s average you have to make a tough call. So you have to hope he’s so good it’s a no-brainer, which is the least probable outcome. |

Ehhh, it’s less than $5 mill this year, and then if they pick up the option they’re out $18M+, which if you average it out, the money is rather cheap for a starter of average caliber. Whether or not Darnold can be average, or at least serviceable, well... |

Darnold just has to be acceptable this year as he will be cheaper than Bridgewater. Then the $18M is a little steep but they should have more around him than CMC. |

PFF's QB expert is an Irishman who never played football...may not have ever thrown a football in his life. There was a story in the Belfast Times or something about him and they described him as the football outsider who never played the game but has the ear of all 32 teams in the league. What a bunch of bullshit. Nobody in the league listens to that guy. You can't have 32 different people grading film then combine the scores into one. PFF is a scam. |
