Outside of Pete Carroll has there been a single college coach that's made a successful jump to the NFL?

Everyone, including myself, was a little too keen to label the Texans off-season a total disaster. They added some decent veterans and got rid of guys like JJ Watt and Will Fuller V who were doing basically nothing for them anyways. They suck, but they aren't 0-16 tier like we were led to believe.

So I'm still believing Meyer finishes the season, but man its dicey. Could go either way.

Meyer coaches the Jaguars.

He’s saying that loss isn’t as embarrassing as it looks for the Jags. I don’t agree.

It would be a scumbag move for him to already be backchanneling with USC, but I imagine it is happening.

He is probably staring at a minimum of two awful years and then two mediocre years that show progress. They do have some really nice players at the skill positions so I imagine he'll be able to pull off a few wins that should be losses this year. The defense needs a complete overhaul.

He took over a 1 win team and has played one game so far.

 Nebraska. He wouldn't be caught dead near Nebraska. That school is done. When they quit allowing them to empty prisons into the football program it was finished. What recruiting base does Nebraska have?

For fleeing ahead of scandal, not because his team sucked.

He’s not Coach K, pretending to have a debilitating injury every time Duke sucks.

I forget which it was but he definitely said he had to focus on his health when he left Ohio State or Florida.

His teams didn’t suck though. Hell, OSU was 13-1 his last season and 13-1 the season after he left.

Probably both, but he left OSU stacked.

Tom Coughlin was at BC before taking the Jacksonville job. I'd say he did pretty alright for himself in the NFL.

Also, Bill Walsh

Much like Pete Carroll, he was the captain rat off the sinking ship.

I thought he said he had brain cancer or something at OSU (conveniently timed, and apparently not bad enough to keep him of the Fox CFB show).
