In the pocket. Trying to pass instead of run.

Exactly..he's always had the arm to do it.

I'd buy in if he sustains this the whole season.

If you watch this and think Lamar Jackson is good, you know nothing about football.

Don't get me wrong, he's fun to watch run around. When he throws, his mechanics and technique are terrible. 19 of 30 last night. He can light up undisciplined and poor tacking defenses. The only super bowl he'll get to is one where he gets some free tickets. Poor at reading defenses and recognizing who to throw to

Great rushing effort by Jackson last night. He's a top 20 RB in the league.

His TD pass was fantastic.

He had the same number of turnovers as Tom Brady did last year (13). I assumed he had more.

Easily the most exciting player since Barry Sanders.

Lamar and Barry will have the same number of Super Bowl wins.

True but a bit misleading. Brady threw 60% more passes and LJ fumbled 10x, just happened to recover 6 of them.

I do not know how you stay healthy with his style of play. But he is fun to watch.

I dunno. But he will decline like an NFL RB.

Maybe. I doubt he'll be out of the league in a few years so I disagree

He will not be out, but he will be diminished and will be robbed of his main skill- incredible running.

Maybe. I think you and most others underestimate his passing ability. Give the guy some receiving weapons and you'll see what he can do through the air. He led the NFL in TD passes with a hobbled 160 pound rookie WR as his only WR threat in 2019 as his first year as a starter. His in the pocket throwing metrics have been above league average the past two years.

He's very good. He's not an RB who's playing QB as a gimmick.

I don’t think it’s possible to underestimate his passing ability.

Well, that's a bad take.

I'm a big Jackson critic and thought he did amazing on Monday as a passer. Let's see him sustain pocket play into the playoffs.

Post subject:  Re: Lamar Jackson

Kyler Murray is the passing version of Lamar that everyone wants Lamar to be. But he's a midget and will need to have a good coach to scheme him ways to get out and get those passing lanes open. Kingsbury wasn't great at that last year. He was a lot better at it in Week 1 but the Titans d is atrocious so we'll see.

If Lamar had his WR corps instead of Baltimore's this thread might look a lot different too though.

I agree that Baltimore for the past 5 or so years is a skill position wasteland on offense, much like Chicago.
