Aikman just casually throwing out he’s going into the HOF when he retires.

Is he though? Idk about that

Probably. He was a top 3 corner for a handful of years.

This isn’t the basketball HOF. NFL has standards. Think it’ll take more than what you said

Stats are difficult for corners in this era. I think you have to be judged by how you ranked amongst your contemporaries. I think that gets him in.

No chance. He was a very good player on a great defense for a handful of years.

Right. You generally have to be the best of your era to get in, or very close. Sherman isn’t close to that threshold.

He was a top 3 corner for a handful of years and he was probably top 10 until the past few years. I haven't looked at HoF corners, but I think that should be enough.

No. He primarily played on one side of the field and benefited from the defense that had All Pro players at every level.

Idk. NFL HOF seems lax lately.

Didn't play at a Hall of Fame level long enough, but maybe being a spokesman for racial justice carries him the rest of the way. He went to Stanford.

He made the nice sideline lady uncomfortable in that post game interview once, no chance unless Randy Moss says something nice about him.

Very good player, HOF? No

If you put Sherman in, Peanut Tillman should be enshrined in the same class.

Both good players, great at times. Not HOF worthy imo.

If you wanna look at DB's Sherman is/was better than John Lynch and Lynch just got in.

Yes. Let's do that. I feel the best way to determine if a player is HOF worthy is to compare him to somebody who plays an entirely different position.

Great idea, Bob.

I classified it(from the beginning) it as defensive backs, stop following me thread to thread like an ankle biting chihuahua you stupid fucking menstruating c.unt.

Sherman made 3 1st team all pro teams. These are voted on by the peers, not that useless fan voting pro bowl shit. He for sure is in the discussion.

Oh, and look, the Hall of Fame itself classifies it as the DB position, so go fuck yourself Frank.

A good comp for Sherman is Ty Law, who got in.

Sherman just got a domestic and wasn't the nicest guy to the media. That's probably going to play a role. Outside of that, I agree with you.

Yeah the "militant" thing isn't going to help him, but he for sure is in the discussion. He played on a great defense and was a "zone" corner which hurts him, but if I recall his side was always shut down and he gets points for playing in an era where you can't even touch the receiver. Those legacy DB's the ones that played before the 2000's they literally got to beat the shit out of the WR at the line of scrimmage.

Would Donnell Woolford be in if he hit his wife and yaked his trap all the time?

Revis played in the same era and was a million times better

Not exactly. Revis Island wasn't a touch free zone. He was definitely a better player who learned how to move around. Teams initially just moved their best receiver to the other side. Similar to what they did against peak Sherman.

Also to note, the Seahawks defense was great because of their linebackers, safeties and corners. It was built from the back to the front. They had decent but not great players on the dline.

I think longevity isn’t on his side either. Half his career he’s been either injured or just another guy. His great years were mostly over by his 5th season.
