This is silly as when I heard Tony LaRussa was a candidate for manager of the White Sox.

I saw Jeff Fisher's name in the mix too.

He has the Steelers job as long as he wants it, right? I don't think he's ever had a losing season, and that includes some pretty bad teams.

I'm not sure why anyone would give up the Steelers job for a college gig. He's young enough to coach the Steelers for another 20 years. They have a first class organization in just about every way.

Yeah I have no clue either, but strange things happen.

The Steelers have had 3 head coaches in the past 50 years. It's the hallmark of stability in a profession that is defined by instability. Unless Tomlin had a personality disorder, why would he ever leave?

Big Ben has evolved.

This only became a thing because Carson Palmer mentioned on the Dan Patrick show that in internal discussions at USC his name came up. Not one thing on Tomlin having any interest.

It will always be funny to me that some colleges float out that they have interest in an already successful NFL head coach.

The return of Pete Carroll? His time in Seattle coming to an end. Carroll's wife probably veto a return to socal, didn't Carroll have a coed side-piece set up in a condo while he coached at USC

Especially when he gets Russell Wilson next season. Or AaRod.

It would be a terrible move for both Tomlin and USC. Why would he want to start recruiting at this point in his career?

USC is desperate to be relevant. They float this stuff out to act like it's a job people want still.

 Salty was an understatement. He seemed completely offended by the reports.

Kellen Moore will probably find himself in the next round of rumors.

Loved his reaction

I don't blame him. It would be insulting to be rumored to be a "candidate" for a job that's completely beneath your current one, while you're considered one of the top coaches in the top area of the sport.

I do believe Tomlin is a very good coach and I would be in no hurry to fire him. Having said that, I do find it interesting how people look at the Packers and their 1 Super Bowl with a Hall of Fame QB and how people look at the Steelers with the same thing.

Thinking about this further though, the Steelers did go to another Super Bowl so that is probably where I am wrong.

Probably the arrogance of USC ( who wouldn’t want to coach here !!)

Rodgers is better than Big Ben, who has played in three Super Bowls winning two of them.

He's been .500 or better every year he's been the head coach(2007-present). I think they've missed the playoffs 3 times since then. In a really tough division.

Let's face it. The Packers play in one of the consistently easiest divisions in football. I mean, the Lions  The Bears (since around 1994) The Vikings since Dennis Green got fired

The comparison would be to Drew Brees

Cleveland and Cincinnati have been door mats for the majority of the time he has been the Head Coach there.
