In the modern era, who is it?

I don't think it's Ditka. Bud Grant or Holmgren?

Grant made it to four Superbowls but lost all four.

Jack Pardee 5-1 against Green Bay

The record won't reflect it but John Mc Cay was an excellent coach taking a new franchise to three playoffs.

Post realignment, it’s one of the Mikes in GB.

As sad as it is, McCarthy may be the best (or at least most accomplished) coach to come through the division these past 20 years.

Even more sad is I could make a defensible argument for Lovie...

If Bud Grant had won one, it'd be him hands down. And then Holmgren.

There’s potentially a Jim Caldwell argument as well given the circumstances.

Yup. NFC North has only been around since 2002. Its probably McCarthy.

You want to include the NFC Central, then you can talk about Grant, Ditka, etc.

Mccarthy easily( hes not even a great coach)

Holmgren for the central, very good coach.

McCarthy had a 10-8 playoff record in Green Bay.
LaFleur is 2-3.

I don't think McCarthy gets enough credit for having a winning playoff record(9-7) with Aaron Rodgers. That doesn't seem to be an easy thing to do.

Id be surprised if Mccarthy isnt fired by Dallas at the the end of this season..and he is in the shittiest division.

I still think it's Grant, and then Holmgren.

Grant had Joe Kapp as a QB in at least one SB. Kapp was awful at playing QB.

If you include all coaches, what about Buddy Ryan?

Here's something I didn't know about him, which I just read today. According to Wikipedia, "Ditka challenged Ryan to a fight during halftime of the Bears' 1985 matchup versus the Miami Dolphins, with the team at 12–0 and trailing 31–10 in a nationally televised Monday Night Football broadcast. The guys on the team had to separate them—the offense getting Ditka away from Ryan and defensive guys holding Buddy. The Bears went on to lose the game 38–24, which was their only loss of the season."
