Campbell is a psycho. Very entertaining and I’d bet good money he’s fired before his third season wraps.

I have enjoyed the first couple episodes. Campbell reminds me of a high school coach. Duece is a psycho as well.

I don't get all the Campbell hate. Players seem to love him and he had the Lions in almost every game last year with little talent and a garbage QB.

Football itself is psycho. This modern rationalization that it's not is counterproductive.

Maybe so, but Campbell was melting down on the second or third day of training camp, as was Staley and their starting running back. These guys are going to be burned out before the regular season begins. It should bo without saying, though, that Campbell's histrionics are bizarrely hilarious, and this is the most entertaining season of Hard Knocks in some time.

Interestingly, the Lions have rapidly acquired some significant talent and should win 7-9 games this season, possibly more if the coaches prove to be as competent as they are cocky.

I was just a general statement. I pretty much don't know shit about football. I do know that at its core, its violent and emotional and Nagying the game is not "smart".

No one hates Campbell. Saying he is psycho is not hate. It seems like a guy that people love to play for. But he can still be psycho.

Calling him a psycho is neither a compliment nor a criticism. It’s like saying he’s a white guy with dark hair - purely descriptive.

He is a guy untalented players will run through a brick wall for but talented players will reject. He might bring them to 9-8 and maybe even leak into a playoff game. Then the next year they will be projected to win the division but return to 2-15. Despite Jamaal Williams mixing multiple analogies in one impassioned speech, I don't think he is a guy veterans will like.

Jared Goff is still their QB.

Most NFL coaches are psychotic. Or simply narcissistic assholes like Ditka .

Aside from Campbell, who are the psychopaths occupying the NFL head coaching ranks?

Psycho Belichick? He might have a dream once a year that isn't about football.

Mike McCarthy might actually believe he's qualified to coach football. That's some form of psychosis.

Vrabel for sure. Saleh gives off psycho strength coach vibes.

Mike McDaniel is a total hardo.

Brandon Staley, Belicheck, Vrabel, Campbell, among others.

But with Sean Payton and a variety of other crazies leaving in the last two years it's better now.

Agreed on your crazy list....most are. I'd bet you could add Mike McCarthy to the crazy list.

I would be curious to know if the cameras off version of Head Coach Lovie Smith has trigger mode that throws the buffet table over

Belichick might be crazy, but he's not a psycho.

Shanahan, LaLoser, McVay, McDaniel, O'Connell, Bowles, Rivera, Eberflus, Lovie, Reid, etc--none of these guys are psychos in the mold of Campbell/Ditka.

I haven't followed Staley closely enough to concede that he is a psycho. What evidence is there to support this view?

I am fairly certain I have never heard anything like that on a consistent basis about McCarthy.

Staley is a guy who clearly thinks he is smarter than everyone else which cost him games last year.

How does a RB coach cost a team games?

I'm talking about the coach of the Chargers; not the over the top Duce Staley

In a league where a lot of players were raised in single parent homes, I think being a stand up father figure works for him. The same is true for Tomlin.

I've always appreciated that many need a screaming, hollering coach but I never responded well to that. That my college coach was like that had me quit running track.

I didn't care about the yelling as long as you told me what I did wrong and the correct way to do it. I had no use for yelling just for the sake of yelling.

I loved it, not at me of course, but when it was a teammate.

I've not spending any time looking into whatever his name is. He'll probably gone soon. But I hope not, I'm still rooting for Tua.
