The Lions are a good team that are probably 1 year away from potentially being great. They started 1-6 last season and still almost made the playoffs. That said barring Mahomes getting food poisoning or something crazy and not playing tonite, I'm not sure a see a way the Lions win later on.

I was scared when I saw their draft capital before the draft. They squandered the value of most of the picks by overdrafting and chasing less impactful positions.

Having a cost controlled Hooker gives them financial flexibility at other positions. His age doesn't matter if he's good.
