Texans at Jets Rematch of last year's sleepy game where the Jets upset the texans 30-9 at home. Somehow the Jets are favored in this game. Texans have 2 WR's out but still. No TV tonight, tune in on Westwood One radio, and watch the replay after on NFL Network!! |

Playing the odds this isn't one of them. |

why is it so fucking hard to hold on to the football until you clearly cross the goal line? How many times are we going to see idiots drop the ball just before the goal line. I cannot think of anything else that would piss me off more as a coach. You should be cut at halftime if you do that. |

I wonder if this is an off-shoot of Bat Flip Culture, where guys try to irreverently show off as much as possible, but being dumb football players, they choose to try to push the boundaries while the play is still live, instead of risking a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff. |

Not sure about that one, NFL players were high-stepping into the endzone for years. If anything, baseball's "refreshing" celebrations are downstream of football. |

Why did they have the RB throw a pass to the quarterback? Why didn't the head coach overrule him? FIRE EVERYONE! |

True but I'm talking specifically about the recent advent of "drop the football as close as you can to crossing the goal line" type of showboating. |

Yeah this goes beyond high stepping and showboating. Is there an example of this dropping the football before like 5 years ago? It seems to have happened a lot in recent years. And I cannot think of any example of it from previous generations |

Mason Rudolph has been playin' decent the last few games. NOBODY has noticed. That 52-14 thrashing at Detroit last week was deceivin'. He answered 'em TD for TD in the first half before the game got out of hand. Finally paid off with a close victory in OT today. |

Post subject: | Re: 2024 Week 9 |
Falcons looked good in the first half today but the Dallas D stepped up in the second half. Falcons let Cooper Rush make the score respectable. Dallas was in falcons territory all day but just couldn't cash in. Stopped on 4th down on a CD Lamb reverse, and failed on a fake punt, both times in Falcon territory. That shows the lack of a running game. They always seem to pull off surprise road wins at places like Atlanta and New Orleans but somehow just kept shooting themselves in the foot. |
