heard it on a scoreboard update.

2 #1 picks? Seems kind of high.

So, in the past 2 months, the raiders have used two first round picks and a third round pick on QB's?

I wonder if the Oakland fans will overreact to what this means.

1 number one pick and a conditional draft pick (didnt say which round) in the report I saw.

That is an awful trade. The Gunslinger would have been more than happy to suit up for the Raiders.

If in fact it was only 1 #1 pick it is not as bad as I originally thought with 2 #1 picks.

They were calling the conditional draft pick a 1st rounder on The Score

I just dropped him in a league last week and now he gets traded. My timing is great.

Actually if its conditional, it probably is a number one

But the condition could be Palmer going throwing for 4000 yds next year or something.

If he doesn't though...don't they get something slightly lesser instead or does it just drop to the single #1 pick?

Good for the Bengals. Palmer has some health / elbow questions and he was being a prick besides. If you take a close look at the Bengals team...they seem to be building a good young nucleus with o-line & d-line, and now a young qb who looks like he can play and a good looking rookie receiver too. With some additional early round picks in future years, they might actually have a team again someday.

Doesn't that mean the Raiders don't have a single draft pick until the 6th round?

#1 picks are worth so much more in the new agreement. Whoever is running the Raiders now is much crazier than Al.

Also, Carson Palmer sucks, so its really a bad trade.

The beauty of this statement is that it's Al's son running the team currently.

I do like the move for the Raiders, need a quarterback and have a good chance at the playoffs.

Now they are giving up too much, because when you see some of the college players these today, I know it's hard to predict how it will work out, but some good players may be coming.

Why not keep the picks and sign David Garrard?

He's having surgery. No play this year.

What a racist suggestion, BTW

Why not keep the picks and sign Todd Collins then

+1. This is almost unbelievably bad. Palmer was one of the ten worst starting QB's in the league.

The Raiders would probably have given the Bears 2 full draft classes for Cutler. Stupid Angelo.

They should only trade for 6th rounders cause that's when that Angelos is at his best...

What if Palmer still doesn't want to play?

All that remains is that a passed physical by Palmer to make the deal between the Raiders & Bengals complete. It seems like a great deal by Cincinnati with the draft picks, but for Oakland, it proves to me 2 things. First, Kyle Boller isn't a starting QB in this league. Second, I'm convinced that Terrelle Pryor simply isn't ready now that Jason Campbell's out with a broken collarbone and shoulder injury.

You needed this trade to prove this?

I've heard the Raiders are a playoff team, before Campbell got injured this past Sunday. There were 2 other names before the Raiders & Bengals made this deal. One of them, the Broncos' suddenly benched Kyle Orton. The other was David Garrard, the ex-Jaguars' QB who hadn't signed with any team before it was revealed that he's about to undergo back surgery.

Post subject:  Re: Carson Palmer to the Raiders

apologize if someone already posted this info, but I glanced and didn't see it...

The conditional pick is whether or not the raiders win a playoff game. If they do...its a 1st rounder, if not...its a second rounder. At least that is the way I heard it.

The Raiders must think the world is going to end in 2012. Can't believe they're giving up on Terrell Pryor already.

That's not quite accurate. Terrelle Pryor's not ready, even though it cost the Raiders a third round pick to draft the controversial, troubled ex-Ohio State QB.
