Leaf will be a better pro than Manning.

People always try to talk themselves out of things given enough time. Luck is going to be really good. So is Barkley though but I think Luck is a high ceiling, high floor kind of player that you can be confident in.

At worst, he's Matt Ryan.

Actually, if you look back to the stanford vs. Usc thread you'll see that you are completely wrong... This isn't the first such occurence...

This is a pro thread. Yours was in the college section.

Eli will be a better QB than Brees is a better example IMO.

Andrew Luck will be a serviceable QB in the league, but nothing special.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree on this one.

I also didn't see you say Barkley would be better. You said he's good.

Do you think Tebow is better than both?

I assume you mean Rivers. I knew Drew Brees was going to be the best QB in NFL history.

Rivers vs. Eli is a good comparison.

Yeah.

Brees was with Vick, but that is another example. All the experts had Vick better than Brees. Brees fell to the first pick of the 2nd round and Brees is clearly the better QB.

Rodgers and Alex Smith in 2005 is another example.

Blackledge over Jim Kelly and Dan Marino back in the day.

The experts are often wrong on who is the best QB in the draft.

The whole Suck for Luck deal is going to backfire on the Colts and whoever gets Barkley will be the winner.

I agree the Barkley could be better, but I think Luck is falling into a perfect situation!

He could end up learning by one of the best ever at the position.

His GM and Scouts have analysed everything possible on the kid and would never leave him WR'less think some teams do!

They would trade anything to get him stud WR's

Basically these guys wont take him unless they think he is a perfect fit. Which is not usually the case.

Luck will be the best QB in the NFL for 7-10 years, especially if he goes to the Colts. He is the most NFL ready QB since Manning & he runs a pro style offense at Stanford. This kid is a once every 20 year kind of prospect.

Agreed. RFDC is just trying to be provocative. Griffen is already and will continue to be better than Barkley.

It makes me as uncomfortable as ball boy at a Fine family christmas party.

Still, I see Barkley as another USC QB shining because of superior talent at every position.

Luck makes his team, his team makes Barkley...and I really like Griffen and have for several years.

There's no question that both USC's Matt Barkley & Stanford's Andrew Luck will be playing in the NFL, but I'm not so sure that either QB plays right away in the pros. I think what might hurt Barkley to a certain extent is not playing in meaningful games, thanks to USC being on NCAA probation. That being said, Barkley reportedly has submitted paperwork for the NFL Draft and likely has played his last college game on the USC campus.

I don't think it is fair to lump Barkley in with other USC QBs and assume he will be like them. He should stand on his own merits. It is not his fault Sanchez and Leinart blow.

Griffen is someone I cannot get a good read on. Some games I think he will be a really good NFL QB, other games not so much.

Guys, I don't know about Baylor's Robert Griffin III either. He had a monster game vs. Oklahoma a few weeks ago that some felt had the Baylor QB overtaking Luck and Alabama's Trent Richardson atop many Heisman ballots, but he didn't finish Baylor's game vs. TCU(?) due to a head (?) injury sustained about a week ago at Cowboys Stadium. He'll get some votes, but I'm not sure about his pro status, let alone if he'll be invited to New York for the Heisman Presentation next weekend on ESPN.

Obviously there are no guarantees RPB. Hell, just look at Angelo's track record! If you don't like Luck that's fine.
I think Luck is a cant miss pro, & if he goes to the Colts he will have an even better chance to succeed with Manning mentoring him which probably helps him a little bit.
I like Barkley too.

My back of the napkin math tells me he’ll catch Luck in yardage in 2079 on 2080
