Wildcard Bengals over Texans- Houston has been on a slide lately, and I don't know if they can recover. In their last four games, Houston only won against Cincinnati, and that was in week 14. In the meantime, they had loss to Carolina, Indianapolis and Tennessee. Meanwhile Cincinnati has only loss one game in their last three, beating St. Louis and Arizona before falling to Baltimore. Neither team is rocking any worlds, and I doubt a weakened Houston can beat Cincinnati twice in one season. Steelers over Denver- The Power of Prayer seems to have waned for one Timothy Richard Tebow. Like Houston, Denver has not won since week 14, when they defeated a defeated Chicago. The Steelers, defending AFC Champs, are one of the elite teams in the League. Enough said. Saints over Lions- This should be the matchup of the week. A rematch of week 13, in which the Saints handily won 31-17. New Orleans is still a high scoring machine, especially under the funky roof of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. On that alone they will advance against a Detroit team that has shown some weaknesses after having an amazing start. Giants over Falcons- Not only has New York put up a .500 record at home (if you don't count the "road" win vs. the Jets), they also have a .471 record against the NFC (FWIW, two of those loses have come from the Redskins). Yet Atlanta hasn't been a world beater, only posting a .500 record at home. Both teams have been inconsistent, but in these situations, you have to go with the home team. Divisional Patriots over Bengals- New England has quietly racked up the top record in the AFC, losing only to a then hot Buffalo, Pittsburgh and oddly enough at home to the New York Football Giants. Yet, there is no way they stumble against the bumbling Bungles. Steelers over Ravens- Two of Pittsburgh's four loses came from the Raven, a blowout in week 1 (35-7) and a close one in week 9 (23-20). I don't recall if a team ever loss three times to another in a single season, and I don't see it happening this season. 49ers over Saints- New Orleans might have spent the season selling tickets, but San Francisco will win a Championship. Packers over Giants- Green Bay, by far, is the best team in football. Conference Steelers over Patriots- New England has slipped only a few times this season, and one of those times was to Pittsburgh. Like the San Francisco/New Orleans game, Pittsburgh and its stiffing defense will hold off New England's high scoring offense. Packers over 49ers- The San Francisco defense, which I believe hasn't given up a rushing TD this season won't be enough to overcome the inbred apes of Northern Wisconsin. That's because Green Bay will just take it to the air to annihilate the west coast dandies. SuperBearlessSuperBowl Steelers over Packers- Sickening arrogance is the bane of Karma. The fist of god will come crashing upon the hollow skull of the false idol Aaron Rodgers, obliterating the hopes and dreams of ex-convicts all throughout the cheese state. |

colonel - nice write up but do your homework next time. eagles lost all 3 games to dallas in 09-10. i also don't know that dalton is ready to win a playoff game yet. houston's got a pretty good defense and a very good running back. i think houston could make it a game. another ravens/steelers game would be great to watch. my favorite rivalry in football right now. |

Eaglo Jeff must have been on suicide watch at that time. As for the Texans, I'm a wee bit more confidant in Dalton than I am in Yates at QB. I also don't trust anyone w/ the name "Arian". A little too "White and Proud" for me. Really though, this and the Giants/Falcons game were the hardest to choose. |

i really can't figure the falcons out this year. they had their somewhat "magical" season last year but got torched at home. now they're on the road...albeit against a not-so-hot giants team. it'll probably be a close game. i'd like to see the texans get their first playoff win but it's hard luck with all the injuries they have. maybe their defense can hang on and win it for them. |

Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders said the Falcons have been the most consistent team they've tracked in the last 20 years. Meaning they beat bad teams and lose to good teams at a historically consistent rate. That seems to make sense from the eye test. |

I'm not sure. Getting Osi back is HUGE for them. It frees up JPP and makes their pass rush one of the best in the league. They can do that well and throw the ball well. They can't run or defend the run but many teams can't do either of those things. |

the saints, who have been bad outdoors, can beat the 49ers...but can't beat the patriots in a dome where they have been 10-1 and averaging almost 40 points all year? come on, RPB. |

I'm not sold on the 49ers for one reason...Alex Smith. He may have had a good season, but I have little faith in the former #1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, and I think he keeps the Niners from going anywhere in the NFC. Coming out of the NFC, I really like the Saints to represent the conference in Indianapolis. I think Drew Brees and that offense of theirs are best equipped to stop the Packers from repeating. As for the AFC, the Patriots may have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but the Ravens always tend to make things happen come playoff time. They beat New England on the road in the playoffs last season, and I think they can do it again. My Super Bowl Champion: New Orleans |

I think if your the Patriots, your pulling for the Bengals, that way you can avoid the Steelers, then have the Steelers-Ravens play each other. |

FavreFan wrote: SHARK wrote: Eli Manning is Rex Grossman with a ring... I disagree with Shark's comparison and still don't understand what he means by that comment. |
