Not crazy at all. His neck injury was pretty severe and combine that with his age, his bank account, his ring, his trophies, the turnover and turmoil with his team and all its front office and field staff changes and you have a logical decision to retire.

Why the hell does Rob Lowe know this?

I agree with Urlacher's Missing neck, not crazy at all, just a little crazy from the source.

Starting to sound like the Colts will clean house, Saturday may retire, most of the Free Agents will be gone, it's either try and stay with the Colts with some diffrent players or go to Miami or Washington.

Manning should wait until after the Super Bowl to announce if this ends up being true.

Rob Lowe says Peyton Manning will retire? I'll believe that when I see it. Besides, there's talk that Rob might be Kelly Ripa's permanent co-host on "Live" now that Regis Philbin has retired.

If that's true, he's doing a helluva job getting his name in the lights, whether this story is true or not. Smart man.

Archie Manning has already responded with a resounding not true. Can this guy ever just shut the fuck up and let his sons handle their own business.

Peyton stands in the rain. His agent joins him, tries to hand him a coat and tells him "it's time." Peyton walks past his agent and towards the motorcade, all the while Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" plays in the background.

Moments later they arrive at the press conference. Peyton is directed to call on a handpicked reporter for a softball question about his injury, but no, he instead calls on another reporter.

"Will you return for the 2012 season?"

Peyton puts his hands in his pockets, looks up to his right and smiles. His agent is overheard saying "watch this!"

"Yes, and we're gonna win the Super Bowl!"
