Post subject:  Warren Sapp is BROKE
TMZ has the exclusive on QB-Killa's bankruptcy, and it's grisly. Sapp owes $6.7 million to his creditors—nearly a million of that to the IRS—and only has $6.45 million on hand. Among that $6.45 million are some distinctly Sapp-y assets:

• 240 pairs of Jordan sneakers and sandals

• Large Nude women painting

• Lion skin rug (female - lioness)

Sapp, however, says he's lost his Buccaneers and Hurricanes championship rings. They're no "Large Nude women painting," but they might have helped ward off the creditors. Alas.

Because he is a fucking idiot! The fact guys like him and Mike Irvin continue to get jobs amazes me. They are bad at their jobs and have run ins that have gotten others fired forever.

Sapp especially wings all his interviews and talks about knowing guys who play now, the he doesnt know at all (See Tommie Harris)

I just don't understand. Say you earn 4 million after taxes. Put 2 mil in the bank and live lavishly on the other 2mil. I just don't think it's that complicated.

I'd love to say I'm shocked, but it is a common story you see with athletes: They come from poor SES backgrounds, never are taught how to take care of their money properly, additionally they want to help out friends and family (as we all do) and next thing you know they are living paycheck to paycheck...and then the paycheck runs out and...

A great business opportunity would be to become a financial planner and go scout top athletes at colleges and universities, it seems like it is an untapped market.

The Packers have a program where they work with the guys on planning for their futures outside of football including job training and financial planning. I have not heard a story since this program started about any of their former players being broke.

As far as Sapp and the other broke athletes.....don't buy dumb shit and don't invest in dumb shit. It is not that hard. I don't feel sorry for you for 1 second.

sapp is a dummy no doubt..but i gotta imagine that the 4 kids by 4 women is what is killing him..if athletes are dumb enough to get played for tens of thousands a month for child support...when they retire and earn less that sum should drop dramatically..getting an athlete to nut inside you should not be a lottery ticket for life.

Ya, they do give them one hell of a cut in the child support. If I were an agent the first thing I would do before the ink on the contract dries would be to take the player to the Doctor for some snip snip snippity action.
