May have been brought up in another thread but could not find it.

So teams now have the option of lifting blackouts if 85% of the tickets being sold. I heard Danny and Larry say the reason teams are struggling to sell tickets is because watching at home is a better experience.

While I do agree with that, they glossed over the point that maybe a lot of NFL teams are over pricing their tickets at this point?

Considering how many NFL teams player in new, taxpayer built stadiums, the blackout rule is pretty much the biggest middle finger policy to its fanbase that any major sport has.

Terrible policy. They play 8 home games. No reason tickets can not be sold out but if the few teams that this applies to suck so much then the owners should be required to buy out the remaining tickets. If you cant fill a stadium then someone else will.

The NFL is wildly popular & is by far the most popular sport in the country, but NFL attendance has declined for 5 years in a row. Teams will need to react & come up with incentives to improve attendance. I have read a couple of articles about teams who are considering reducing the price of food & drinks. This would be a great place to start. But if this attendance trend continues, ticket prices will fall too.

Partner with a Chinese manufacturer and install I-Pad-ish type devices on the back of all stadium seats.

Allow them to order food, buy gift shop items, plug headphones in to listen to a gamecast, access the internet, and CHECK FANTASY STATS REAL TIME from the devices.

Also, HEAT THE ASS PART OF THE SEATS!

That will cost a lot of money.

The most popular sport having trouble selling out eight games a year? Shocking!

I love live sporting events, but that is limited to baseball and hockey games, both of which are much better in person. I have only been to two NFL games in my life, and I much prefer the experience at home. There is a ton of down time between plays, and that is a perfect tv moment to show replays and provide analysis. It is tough to see all the action from the stands. The only part of an NFL game experience that is unique is the tail gate.

I can't watch football without my slo-mo rewind. I give the tickets away to clients or family - try to attend one game a year just for shits, though.

I feel like we are family sometimes. How about tix to a game?

The league wide percentage of tickets sold is probably the highest of all sports though.

Let's put it this way. It's a story when the Colts have 2,000 unsold season tickets 2 months before the season starts. It's a story when the White Sox have only 2,000 unsold seats for a single game.

Keep in mind, though: there is an "initiation" to get into this family.

No shit.

Take Hank to a different spot. Ours is special to me.
