Yet another player has been arrested, again for drunk driving. According to 97.9 XFM in Effingham, Illinois, Chiefs cornerback Donald Washington was arrested there on Thursday.

Stopped on I-70 for speeding on Thursday afternoon, an Illinois State Police trooper detected the odor of marijuana. He found a small quantity in a backpack in the trunk.

He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding and driving on a suspended license.

Bond was set at a whopping $20,000. Washington reportedly is due in court on August 23.

Washington, who played college football at Ohio State, is entering his fourth NFL season. He appeared in 12 games with three starts in 2011 and 12 games with two starts in 2010.

Jerramy Stevens, the former Washington Huskies star who was once accused of armed assault and rape, is appeared in Kirkland court on Tuesday in a domestic violence case involving his purported girlfriend, U.S. soccer star Hope Solo.
Stevens appeared at 1 p.m. to answer a fourth-degree assault arrest stemming from an incident at a Kirkland house Monday in the early hours of the morning. According to court documents, Stevens was arrested after police were called to an altercation in which Solo's younger brother, Marcus, had used a "stun gun."
Hope Solo was found with blood on her elbow but was not, according to documents, very cooperative with police Monday morning. Marcus Solo was found with blood on his forehead and knees after he allegedly fought with some unwanted party guests.
Stevens was not charged and was released Tuesday in short order, after the judge deemed there was no evidence connecting Stevens to the alleged assault.

FOX 2 News in Detroit reported Monday night that Suh was pulled over in Lathrup Village for failure to use due care and caution. According to the report, Suh was driving at a high rate of speed on Southfield Road on Nov. 15, passing cars in the right lane. As the lane came to an end, he swerved left and narrowly avoided hitting another car.

The Lathrup Village police chief said that he planned to review the charges with the city attorney on Tuesday to decide if they should be reduced or dropped.

Update 1:57 p.m.: According to police, Brent was heading westbound on the 1400 block of the service road of East State Highway 114 at a high rate of speed. His car “hit the outside curb,” flipped over and came to rest in the middle of the road.

Brent was responsive and talking to officers when police arrived, authorities said. Brown, the passenger, was unresponsive and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Brent was given a sobriety test and failed, according to police. He was taken to a hospital where his blood was drawn. He was then taken to the Irving City Jail and booked with a second degree felony charge.

His blood alcohol level was not immediately clear.

Update 1:49 p.m.: Irving police have now confirmed that Josh Brent, nose tackle for the Cowboys, has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Jerry Brown, 25, is the person who died. Brown is listed as a linebacker on the team’s practice squad.

Update: An Irving police dispatcher confirmed that there was a fatality accident on State Highway 114 around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. She said no further information can be released at this point, pending notification of family.

Original: Multiple news outlets are reporting that a Dallas Cowboys player was involved in a fatal crash Saturday morning in Irving.

WFAA-TV is reporting that nose tackle Josh Brent has been arrested in the case. Details are limited thus far and Irving police officials have not returned phone calls seeking information. A fatal crash was reported at around 3 a.m. at 600 Cowboys Way. It is not immediately clear who was killed.
