Just for the sake of convenience. I'm really liking the looks of this year's All-Penitentary Team. Two pro bowl RB's, an up-and-coming WR, and likely a few Bengal offensive lineman before everything is done. Even without a QB (for now), this team still goes 7-9. |

One the many dumb things about the Lions arrests is that many of them have been in Michigan for possession of weed. Michigan's a med-marijuana state. Valid Michigan state id and you can get a much better grade of smoke and can have it on your person at all times. |

It's no longer a rumor. Aaron Berry of the Lions has just collected his 2nd arrest of the off season for apparently waving a gun at three people from his car in some kind of road rage incident. This comes days after the Lions meatball head coach ripped the Packers for spending a day of their aloted OTA time skeet shooting in an event that included local police. McCarthy responded to the slight by saying what a great event it was and how nice is was to see the players get handed a firearm from an officer, shoot the target and then hand the firearm back.......which was obviously mocking the relationship the Lions' players have had with law enforcement this off season. |

Lions cut CB Aaron Berry ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have cut cornerback Aaron Berry, two days after he was arrested for the second time this offseason. General manager Martin Mayhew says the Lions terminated Berry's contract because of personal conduct that adversely affected the team. Lions president Tom Lewand says the team has stressed repeatedly that "there will be appropriate consequences when an expected standard of behavior is not upheld." Berry was taken into custody early Saturday morning in Harrisburg, Pa., on three charges of simple assault. Cpl. Kyle Gautsch of the Harrisburg Police Department said there "was a weapon allegedly brandished during the incident." Berry, who is from Harrisburg, was also arrested in that area June 23 on suspicion of DUI, failure to stop and render aid in an accident and other counts. "I would just hope that everybody just holds their judgment on this matter," said Corky Goldstein, Berry's lawyer. "There's a lot more to this situation. ... I know Aaron is very upset over this whole situation. Let's give the opportunity for all the facts to come out." Berry was set to enter a diversionary program after the June arrest, the Detroit Free Press has reported. It was unknown how the cornerback's latest incident affected that deal. Berry's attorney in the DUI case told the paper he was unaware of a second arrest. "We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry," the Lions said in a statement on their website Sunday. "We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate." Berry Berry is entering his third NFL season. He started three games last season for the Lions and one the previous season. The University of Pittsburgh product is the latest Lions player to be arrested this offseason. Besides Berry's previous arrest, second-year players Nick Fairley and Mikel Leshoure have each been arrested twice since the season ended. Offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath also had a marijuana-related run-in with police this offseason, and monticellolive.com reported Friday that defensive tackle Corey Williams appeared in court Wednesday to face a DWI charge stemming from an arrest on June 18, 2011. |

Keeping Score wrote: Jerramy Stevens, the former Washington Huskies star who was once accused of armed assault and rape, is appeared in Kirkland court on Tuesday in a domestic violence case involving his purported girlfriend, U.S. soccer star Hope Solo. Stevens appeared at 1 p.m. to answer a fourth-degree assault arrest stemming from an incident at a Kirkland house Monday in the early hours of the morning. According to court documents, Stevens was arrested after police were called to an altercation in which Solo's younger brother, Marcus, had used a "stun gun." Hope Solo was found with blood on her elbow but was not, according to documents, very cooperative with police Monday morning. Marcus Solo was found with blood on his forehead and knees after he allegedly fought with some unwanted party guests. Stevens was not charged and was released Tuesday in short order, after the judge deemed there was no evidence connecting Stevens to the alleged assault. His car “hit the outside curb,” flipped over and came to rest in the middle of the road. Brent was responsive and talking to officers when police arrived, authorities said. Brown, the passenger, was unresponsive and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Brent was given a sobriety test and failed, according to police. He was taken to a hospital where his blood was drawn. He was then taken to the Irving City Jail and booked with a second degree felony charge. His blood alcohol level was not immediately clear. Update 1:49 p.m.: Irving police have now confirmed that Josh Brent, nose tackle for the Cowboys, has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. Jerry Brown, 25, is the person who died. Brown is listed as a linebacker on the team’s practice squad. Update: An Irving police dispatcher confirmed that there was a fatality accident on State Highway 114 around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. She said no further information can be released at this point, pending notification of family. Original: Multiple news outlets are reporting that a Dallas Cowboys player was involved in a fatal crash Saturday morning in Irving. WFAA-TV is reporting that nose tackle Josh Brent has been arrested in the case. Details are limited thus far and Irving police officials have not returned phone calls seeking information. A fatal crash was reported at around 3 a.m. at 600 Cowboys Way. It is not immediately clear who was killed. More information as it becomes available. I...L.L.. I believe Dwayne Goodrich just recently got out of prison for killing that guy while driving drunk. |
