I don't think either one is, nationally. Some fans of each one might overrate them.

They both are considered "franchise" qb's by their home fan bases if not nationally and both are not.

I think a few idiots will say they are franchise QBs. I think most people realize they are average starters.

Considering that the Cowboys are on our tv sets every damb week and the national guys always feeding us Romos worthless good stats id have to say Romo is not only the most overrated QB of discussion but the most overrated in the nfl

No one even rates Cutler, he just gets ripped to shreds by everyone

Not true. RFDC will be here in a minute to tell us Cutler is great.

This should have been a 3-man ballot.

+ 1. Until they make it to the playoffs and then produce, they will remain "just guys". Romo's lack of production in the post season has already removed whatever luster his star had and Cutler has yet to prove anything in a big game consistently and his perception nationally is that of a self-centered ass.

I don't think either are that great, but I never see Cutler get that much recognition nationally. The segment is usually focused on his demeanor, bad footwork, or chewing out JWebb.

So Matt Ryan is just a guy? And a worse one than Romo and Cutler?

I was referring to Cutler and Romo, i.e "they". I wouldn't classify Ryan as overrated but rather a good young QB making his mark in the league. And yes, I do think he has the potential to be a franchise QB although not a superstar.

Well that's confusing to me given your post I quoted.

We are talking the first 8/7 games of this season.

So, we couldnt get "Just a guy" for decades? I dont think he is an all time great NFL Player, but he is a defined Good QB that has a special arm strength level that does seperate him from guys like "Our" Jim Miller and Erik Kramer who are 'Just Guys"

You have to consider all of his turnovers though. He may be more physically gifted...but that has allowed him to take more chances and make more mistakes. You also never ever ever trade 2 first round picks for "just a guy".

romo's reputation is starting to dwindle even by the national guys. the cowboys as a team are overrated almost every year though.

This catch is isn't gonna count, but Romo was an inch and a half from making FF's prediction (and subsequent gloat) one of the worst ever.

Tough to pin this loss solely on Romo.

It is tough to pin it on Romo. But you can't blame me whatsoever for predicting a romo choke, since he basically did on the 2nd to last drive.
