Chip Kelly Brian Kelly Saban Other? I could see Saban going back. He can not accomplish anything more in college and i'm sure his failed experience with the Dolphins was a shot to his ego. |

I believe that we will see a heavy influx of college coaches into the NFL the next few years, due in part to Harbaughs success. There is a lot of chatter about Chip Kelly - Oregon, & Chris Peterson - Boise State going to the NFL, & I hope they do. It is good for the NFL when innovators like Kelly & Peterson come into the NFL. I believe that Peterson will be the next great NFL head coach to come from the collegiate ranks. |

Coach fitz is a lot like harbaugh, maybe more ethical and I know someone who wants him to be the bears coach! And that someone might end up owning a majority of the bears. |

Christ, if Scorehead ends up owning the Bears he will make this Lovie Smith debacle look like a dynasty. |

I'm sure Cutty would just have loads of respect for Fitz's coaching abilities. |

With the success of Harbaugh and Caroll, I can see NFL teams going through another cycle of hiring college coaches. |

Why is Carroll considered a success? He was in the league for years, and never won shit. He's been in Seattle 3 years now, and this is their first good season. |

Yeah, what a shock that the Northwestern sugar daddy wants the Northwestern coach to go to the team he owns. Fitzgerald is a third or fourth-tier college coach, though. |

Right, but the point of my argument was that successful NCAA coaches do not make successful NFL coaches. |

True, but you can also say the same about successful NCAA Basketball coaches trying to make the transition into the NBA. Tim Floyd, Lon Kruger, Mike Montgomery, John Calipari, Rick Pitino & Jerry Tarkanian. All of these college basketball coaches may have won in the college ranks, but none of them fared real well in the NBA. Coincidence? |

Well, it's not that unheard of for guys to work in the college ranks and then come up to the pros, it's just unlikely that you can be King Shit Of Football Island in college and then take that act to the NFL. There are really only so many people who fit the personality profile of an NBA coach. It's gotta be the hardest of the four leagues to do, in terms of the interpersonal dynamics at play. That's probably why you'll see the same handful of proven but mediocre guys keep getting job after job. Has Rick Adelman not been an NBA coach for any significant period of time? |

As I see it from afar the NBA is kinda an odd thing. I have never seen so many guys go right from the court to coach, gm and be executives in a league. |

Mark my words: if Skiles coached college, they'd build a statue of him within five years. |

I wonder if we'll get a flurry of coaches out of the D-League the way the CBA produced Phil Jackson, George Karl, Flip Saunders, and a few other guys. Or we can just keep giving Byron Scott gigs to get fired from, one or the other. |

Rick Adelman isn't mediocre though. He's one of the best coaches in the NBA. |

Lots of good NFL head coaches got off to bad starts then had good careers. Same with players. I like Carroll & always have. There will be more college head coaches leaving for NFL head coaching jobs in the next 3 years than ever before...& that's a good thing. Enough already with Gailey, Smith, Crennel, Reid, Ryan, & Turner. |

Its not a good thing when probably 75-80% of them will be back in the college ranks after just a few years in the NFL because they suck. Every coach you just listed will get a job over a college guy.
