Sad to see the G.O.A.T retiring. I really hope they can put things together offensively and find a way to get back to the AFC Title game, and possibly win. I'm guessing with his retirement, we will also be seeing Reed hang them up also. It's going to be a rough offseason for us Raven fans.

NFL Network is replaying the Ray Lewis episode of "A Football Life" tonight @ 7P in the wake of today's news.

No worries man, I am sure you will jump on the bandwagon of another successful team soon.

Not necessarily true. He only pleaded guilty to obstruction in a plea deal. The circumstances around the case are fishy at the very least;
Quote:
Lewis and two companions, Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting, were questioned by Atlanta police, and eleven days later the three men were indicted on murder and aggravated assault charges. The white suit Lewis was wearing the night of the killings has never been found. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard alleged that the bloodstained suit was dumped in a garbage bin outside a fast food restaurant.

Lewis' attorneys, Don Samuel and Ed Garland, of the Atlanta law firm Garland, Samuel & Loeb, negotiated a plea agreement with Howard, the Fulton County District Attorney, where the murder charges against Lewis were dismissed in exchange for his testimony against Oakley and Sweeting, and his guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.

And why would you wear a white suit to a murder?

This would make a great Seinfeld bit.

I really hate when people bring up the murder shit. As someone said, he pleaded to obstruction of justice. Basically he took that because he didn't snitch. Most people I talk to bring this up when comparing Ray to Urlacher. They are to say Urlacher was a better player, which is a complete joke. Then once they lose that argument, they say well he's a murderer. Some people are just haters.

So he covered up for his friends who did commit the murder then. What a stand up guy. Wonder how he would feel if his son gets stabbed to death and some dude refuses to flip on his friends and walks away with just an obstruction charge. Fuck him, he's a piece of fucking garbage.

I remember this. The Halcyon days before "Stop Snitching". 'Melo and his pals were only sophomores in high school.

Yes, many people hate people who cover up murders. Dumbass.

Maybe the guy they killed needed a good murdering, ya know, to wake him up and set him on the path to a successful after-life.

Read this thread again. He was able to plea to a lesser misdemeanor charge BECAUSE he testified against the other guys.

Once again I tell you to re-read this thread. You are the only one who has mentioned Urlacher.

Ray Lewis reportedly will join ESPN next season. That "Sunday NFL Countdown" set in Bristol, CT is big enough as is...Right?

Im not sure what the deal is here. As I understodd it, he refused to testify. Wiki said he did. Maybe he testified that he saw them fighting but not the murder?

The charges were dropped, so apparently it wasnt a great testimony

Never said people here mentioned Urlacher. I'm saying people I talk to at bars or wherever.
