Is it possible that CBS orchestrated the lights going off along with the NFL to keep the ad space going? The game itself was going at a really quick pace...I remember halftime started about an hour and 10 minutes or so after kickoff, which is usually about 20 minutes or so faster than a normal game's pace. Is it possible the suits and the ginger hammer threw a rain delay in there for the advertisers? |

My first thought was phase one of some terrorist plot.(A CBS news reporter hinted at thinking the same this morning) After awhile,I started thinking it was some MIT geek sending a virus to the power company. Still no answer though? |

They didn't show that many of the big commercials if any during it though. I thought it was more cbs promo crap and bad commentary. |

It actually worked out real well for them... |

Reasons that theory falls apart 1. They can control when they come back from timeouts, etc so they can squeeze in extra commercials. 2. They really didnt use all thew down time for commercials at all. 3. They had Nothing ready! Not even a thought! I wonder if Marino and Cowher even watched the game? 4. Steve Tasker is going to handle the extra time. I bet FOX would have had something ready to go. |

Deadspin ran an article this morning listing all of the Louisiana requests for additional funding for the electrical system there -- they were basically getting about 900k per month for the past three or four months trying to get it up to par for hosting the SB. |
