Not a Jets fan at all, but just perplexed about why they continue to create opportunities for Sanchez. It's been common knowledge for at least 3 years that Sanchez absolutely sucks. The Jets benched him for a third stringer last year, yet here they are giving him a chance to complete against Smith for the starting QB spot this year: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sanchez-sm ... --nfl.html Even if Smith sucks in practice, I don't see how you even consider starting any QB on that roster over your second round pick. Sanchez had his time and sucked, so it's time to put an end to that chapter and see what you got with Smith. |

Because the owner is going to end up spending alot of coin on Sanchez so they are seeing if anything can be salvaged there. I agree with you he blows, but if Geno shits the bed spectacularly he is your guy. |

They were stupid for giving him that money last year. |

Probably not any fun to be a Jets fan in general I guess. |

Eh, I don't see a problem with not just handing the job to your draftee. I thinbk it's more about pushing the kid than anything to do with Sanchez |

I think they want Geno to win the job (from what I've heard from Mornhinweg, he's positively turgid over the guy), but if he doesn't, what are they going to do? |

Enjoy NFL hell for a while? I don't think their D is as good as it used to be 3-4 years ago. I don't know what they did in the draft outside of Smith, but their WR personnel is also weak, if I remember correctly. Shonn Green, their former second round pick at RB, just left after failing to live up to expectations. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel for them? |

They're going to be really bad this year, no doubt. But the defense is still strong, and if Geno can play, that covers up a lot of holes. If he can't, that probably means they'll have a top-5 pick in 2014, which means they'll just draft a better one. |

The Jets paid Mark Sanchez like he's the second coming of Tom Brady. They'd be lucky to get a case of Pepsi Max for Mark. |
