Looks like it's here to stay. There is a Thursday night game for every week except for the last two weeks of the season. |

I really don't care for TNF. Occasionally, sure. Not every week. I actually like when they have Saturday games after College Football's regular season ends. |

Thursday nights should be for reading scripture....not watching football. |

NFL could spread out the season, have each team play only every other week, and have a game every night of the week. They would still dominate the ratings every night and have the season last 36-40 weeks |

We all understand that this was done to ensure the NFL Network would be a required station on all cable plans, right? |

Curious Hair wrote: Keep blowing up the Sports Cable Bubble. It can't possibly pop! Yeah, over saturation. My "mood" for football rests entirely on how the Bears did that week. If they lose, then I don't usually watch any more games. If they win,I'm in the mood for the next game. Thursday night football depends on what shows are opposite it. |

It's going to be much harder to create a netflix for live events especially when there is no real benefit for the companies who own the live events to do it.By the way, thanks for help paying for my college sports viewing habits! |

I'm not one percent sure what happened either. But I know Jeff Moorad cut a ridiculous deal that has become the benchmark for baseball TV deals in other markets. I believe that caused Time Warner to raise the price for their basic package so high that many people didn't want to pay it. It's the Padres, not the Yankees. |

That probably should be filed in the Time Warner office under do market research first. |

I disagree with this. I think there will be an All sports type package in the next 5 years that wipes out cable. Im sure benefits for the owners will be found or fabricated |

I think that sounds more like a bad deal. When the Cubs television deal comes up I think we'll see that it is still business as usual.rogers park bryan wrote: Boilermaker Rick wrote: It's going to be much harder to create a netflix for live events especially when there is no real benefit for the companies who own the live events to do it. ! I would rather pay extra for NHL Gamecenter to include the Blackhawks than pay for basic cable. I can't believe anyone thinks these good times are going to last forever. When do they ever? |

Curious Hair wrote: I would rather pay extra for NHL Gamecenter to include the Blackhawks than pay for basic cable. Of course you would and that is why you won't have that option for a long time.Curious Hair wrote: I can't believe anyone thinks these good times are going to last forever. When do they ever? Not forever, but cable is going to become a sports delivery system. If you like sports, it will last a long time.

He'll do something to fuck it up. Leave it to these idiots to leave a superstation so they can start Cubs Public Access. Actually, I hope they give a nod to their golden-goose-slaying and call it ON TV. |
